Huge mihi to the whanau O Te Papatipu Planting Ltd - We are grateful to have had your kaupapa bless our whenua Whanau- your mahi, mauri, team & intentions to not only restore & renew but to also offer mahi to our whanau & local community to empower & keep us self sustainable & keep our whenua vibing & thriving - these projects are so important for us whanau - for our whenua, whanau & generations to come, I’m excited to see all of this grow & witness the fruits of all the natives, our native manu, our streams come to life with white bait, tuna & more watercress 🌱 🥰. Seeing the whenua filled with whanau & familiar faces working there magic over the years has been pretty choice, also seen a few of the nephews on site, doing the mahi & when I stopped to have a nosey on my way home, they were talking about what mahi they were doing & were excited to speak about there mahi on the whenua.
Here are some goals from this project whanau:
-Taiao Restoration- Protect & restore our puna
- Taonga species habitat rehabilitation
-Improve Biodiversity- Contribute to improved biodiversity values
-Iwi lead - whanau members are engaged with the project and hold ownership & responsibility for the wellbeing of there land & awa.
