Our Research Consultant, Karoline Spiessl, spent an impactful week in Fiji and Tonga advancing discussions on e-mobility and charging infrastructure in the Pacific 🌏⚡
It was great to reconnect with partners and meet so many new stakeholders across tourism, infrastructure, marine transport, IT, education, waste & recycling, investment and government. What stands out: strong momentum for renewable energy and electrification paired with very real questions around financing, grid readiness, and implementation.
From solar expansion plans and electrifying transport fleets in Fiji to Tonga’s 70% renewables target by 2030 and growing private-sector interest in EV infrastructure, there is clear demand for practical, scalable solutions and strong international partnerships.
These insights will feed directly into our digital conference on 16 June, where we’ll bring together Pacific and German stakeholders to discuss concrete opportunities. 🧷 Register here: https://neuseeland.ahk.de/en/events/2026/jun-2026/digital-conference-charging-infrastructure-and-e-mobility-in-the-pacific-islands
If you’re working in charging infrastructure, renewable energy or related fields and are interested in connecting with innovative German solutions, feel free to reach out – we’re currently organising tailored B2B meetings.
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to meet.
