Today, we're remembering our beloved company member and dear friend Belinda Pollett, who last month sadly passed away after a short illness. She had been planning her monologue for our new show and was looking forward to returning to the stage.
If you knew her (or had the chance to see her perform) Belinda was an immensely generous, thoughtful and intelligent person – and a talented performer.
She joined Hobson Street Theatre Company in 2014, and her first show was Last Chance Café. Over the years, she held formal roles as an assistant facilitator and HomeGround liaison, but her informal roles included props mistress, wardrobe assistant and holder of institutional memory.
She most recently performed in Not King Lear at Auckland Arts Festival in 2024.
Our thoughts are with Belinda's family at this time.
Moe mai rā Belinda.
