We have an upcoming working bee on Tuesday 9 December from 9.30am - 3.00pm 🐝
We will be weeding and transplanting seedlings, which will go to the City Mission and to any keen volunteers who come along on the day 🌱🍅🫑🌶️
We would love to see you there, even if it’s only for an hour 😁😁

Here’s a recap of our working bee held on Saturday … A huge highlight was the kūmara harvest as we dug up so many beautiful kūmara for everyone to take home (as well as the kūmara leaves which, it turns out, are also edible!) 🍠 We also moved part of the mulch pile into our new pallet bays, did lots of weeding, and made some progress towards cleaning up the Bee Sanctuary entranceway 🌱🧺 It was a productive few hours in the sun so thanks so much to everyone who came along!

Come along to our last event of the year this Saturday at the Bee Sanctuary! We’ll be finishing off some sign painting and indulging in yummy vegan kai 💚🎨
When:
⭐️ Saturday 26 October ⭐️
🐝 10 am - 1 pm 🐝
We’ll supply all the paints, signage material and picnic kai - just bring your lovely self and a mug for hot chocolate or coffee ☕️ 🧺 Things might get a bit messy so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty!
Don’t worry if you aren’t the most artistically gifted - there’ll be a job for everyone!🌻

We are a group of university students passionate about creating an environment which is happy and healthy for the bees and pollinators of Auckland, spreading ecological consciousness as we go.
We are currently in the process of setting up the garden and organizing some working bees where people can socialize, learn, and help create something magic.
We would love to hear from anyone who wishes to be involved, whether it be volunteering on some of our working bees, helping with planning of workshops, landscaping, social media or anything you can think of which would be of benefit to the sanctuary.
The UoA Bee Sanctuary is located beside the Law Library - if you walk through the undercover carpark.
