If you’re a current or potential ministry apprentice, trainer, church leader or anyone beginning to ask whether God may be calling you to more intentional gospel ministry, we’d love to invite you to a Challenge Evening.

This will be held at Latimer Church in Christchurch on Thursday 18th June from 7-9pm.

Through stories from ministry apprentices and a compelling vision for gospel work in New Zealand, the evening will challenge and encourage you to prayerfully consider how God might use you to be serving in gospel ministry or helping plant new churches.

It’s a great opportunity to invite people in your church who may be exploring ministry training, wondering if full-time gospel work could be for them, or simply beginning to ask, “Could God use me?”

It was a joy to participate in the recent Women's Conference for women serving in all sorts of ministry capacities.

Guest speaker Nancy Guthrie taught us faithfully from the Bible. She helped us to understand the Big Story of the Bible, and taught us to trace key themes so we can better see how the whole Bible fits together and points us to Jesus.

Thanks to Sarah Hilsden and Kristie Duke for running two fantastic workshops on behalf of Multiply on Gospel Outcomes and Raising up Gospel Workers for the Abundant Harvest.

Multiply Conference & Challenge Day is back for 2026!

Theme: God’s Heart for His Church (Mission)

This year, conference will focus on how theology shapes a philosophy of ministry - helping churches move beyond simply believing in mission, to building a culture where mission is lived out, sustained, and fruitful.

Together, we’ll explore what it looks like to:

- Equip leaders to live on mission
- Mobilise individuals within the church
- Shape entire church communities around gospel mission

More details including speakers, schedule, and registrations will be coming soon.

For now, mark your calendar. We’d love for you to join us!

Last week we held our first Ministry Apprentice Training Day for 2026.

The focus of the day was joy in the Christian life - a timely reminder that ministry is not sustained by effort alone, but by a deep, abiding delight in Christ.

Across the day, apprentices and trainers gathered for worship, sat under teaching, and spent time in separate sessions designed to equip and encourage each group in their unique roles.

There was a real sense of shared purpose as we invested in the next generation of gospel workers together.

We thank God for this dedicated time - rich in fellowship, encouragement, and joy!

A key part of our work is supporting people who are exploring church planting.

Planting a church is a joyful privilege — and also hard work. So we want to help potential planters (and their churches) work through a clear, careful process to discern whether this is a good and wise next step.

If you know someone who’s asking, “Am I suited to plant?” you can point them to our Church Planting Support page: https://multiply.co.nz/church-planting-support/ or email [email protected] to chat with one of the team.

Our first Training Day for the 2026 Apprenticeship Programme is coming up soon!

If you’re not part of the programme but you’d love to come along to be equipped, refreshed, and meet other gospel workers from around the region, you’re warmly invited.

This first day is focused on JOY — the kind that sustains you in ministry, shapes a healthy church culture, and holds steady even in hard seasons.

To register your interest, email [email protected] and we’ll get you sorted.

This is our vision. Because 52% of New Zealanders say there is no God. That’s 2.6 million people. We long to see a gospel-focused healthy church local to every person in New Zealand!

The reality is that we’ve got a long way to go to see that picture. And so the mission we have set ourselves is to partner with the local church to multiply the training and development of healthy gospel leaders and the planting of new healthy churches, to the glory of God.

Apprentice Training Day #1 (2026) is all about JOY.

Not the “everything’s fine” kind of joy — but the kind that sustains gospel workers and shapes healthy churches.

On the day we’ll be covering things like:
- teaching on joy in the Christian life and joy in suffering
- what it looks like to cultivate joy in the life and culture of the local church
- joy & music (and practical ways to lead well, even if you’re not musical) 🎶

If you’re not in the apprenticeship (yet) but you’re hungry to grow in sustainable ministry, this is the kind of day that recalibrates your heart and strengthens your hands.

Thursday 19th March, Christchurch.

If you're interested in coming along, please email [email protected] and we'll be in touch with next steps!

We’re deeply thankful for the many people who pray for Multiply and give generously to support this work. We simply couldn’t keep running our programs without you.

Our vision is a big one: to see a gospel-focused, healthy church local to every person in New Zealand - what a picture that is!

At the same time, we know we’ve got a long way to go. That’s why our mission is to partner with local churches to multiply the training and development of healthy gospel leaders and the planting of new healthy churches, all to the glory of God.

As the Gospel of Matthew closes, Jesus doesn’t leave his church with a vague hope — he gives a clear commission.

“Go and make disciples…” isn’t a call for a few specialists. It’s the everyday mission of the whole church: proclaiming the gospel, baptising new believers into Christ, and teaching one another to obey all he has commanded.

At Multiply, this is what we’re working toward — helping local churches train and send healthy gospel leaders, and (by God’s grace) seeing new healthy churches planted across Aotearoa.

We’re currently preparing for our first 2026 Apprentice Training Day in March. We’re praying it will be a really encouraging day for apprentices and their trainers.

The Training Days are primarily designed for current apprentices and their trainers, but we're also glad to welcome others who are exploring what an apprenticeship could look like in their own context. If you’re considering an apprenticeship for yourself, or wondering whether this model might serve your local church, you’re very welcome to come along and get a feel for the program.

If you’d like to chat further or register, please email [email protected] and we’ll be in touch.

Training Day 1: Thursday 19 March - Christchurch
Training Day 2: Thursday 18 June - Christchurch
