Our gorgeous Poppy is loving foster life and will soon be ready for her very own home💗.
She's loving her walks around the neighbourhood, trips to the beach and hanging out with her humans 🥰.

I can. But I’m not going to.

I don’t want your dog to shrink away while I insist on ruffling their hair up.
They don’t need me to touch them to prove “I’m safe”.

What they actually need is for me to keep my hands in my pocket and wait for some signals of consent.

We have a tactile “obsession” when it comes to dogs.

Maybe it starts when they’re puppies and their squidginess draws our hands in.
100% their fur and wee fat rolls combined are irresistible.
From there though, it can become a habit.

We see a person up the street we haven’t seen for a while, stop for a chat and our hand goes down to pat while we say “Aww whose this wee girl”.
That’s how easy these habits grow.

They’re ingrained.

How about we start to normalise not touching?
And start normalising watching for consent.

🌸 Meet Caith (Caithness) 🌸

Caith is a beautiful brindle 5-year-old girl with a calm, gentle nature. She has been living indoors with her trainers for over a year, so is very used to home life, settles well in her crate, and enjoys being part of the family. 💕

She has a special affection for young children and would love a home where she can be included in family life. Gentle and kind, Caith is also cat trainable and could live with a small dog. She is currently located in Canterbury.

Caith has been advertised through Perera Kennels - Greyhound Rehoming and we are very appreciative that they have kindly agreed for us to also share her in the hope of reaching even more potential families for this lovely girl. 🐾

Join Garth at the Shoebox Appeal Walk and fun day this Sunday 😃
🌟We are looking for a special home for our very special boy Garth🌟
First things first Garth (Opawa Garth) had pancreatitis 2 months ago he was very sick and could have died but pulled through like the champ we know he is
He has recovered now and is a happy healthy friendly affectionate guy.
For him to stay this way he needs a low fat diet and healthy treats
Garth can be a bit needy so would love someone to be with him most of the time or have the company of another dog.
He is fine with other breeds after a polite meeting
Sadly he’s not cat trainable
He loves going for a walk and being involved in anything u are doing.

Meet Garth Sunday 31st May

Meet Purdy at the Shoe Box Walk this Sunday!🐾

Our quirky boy Purdy is excited to say hi. He can be a little shy at first, but give him a minute and his playful, smoochy side comes charging out. He’s a real fun-loving goof once he knows you.

Purdy’s perfect home:
- Best as an only dog — he wants all the attention and _definitely_ all the treats. Yep, he’s a foodie.
- Adult-only or homes with older kids. Little ones can overwhelm him, plus that happy whippy tail is a bit of a weapon 😆
- Loves his walks, but quieter spots suit him best. CBD and cafe crowds aren’t his vibe, though he borrows your confidence and loves exploring new sights and smells.

If you want a smoochy, funny, food-motivated mate for life, come let Purdy work his charms on you this Sunday. He’s ready for his greyt day out — and hopefully his forever home 💛

Come and meet Ollie at the Shoe Box Walk this Sunday! 🐾👟

Ollie will be strutting his stuff and hoping to meet his forever family. He’s a medium energy boy who thrives on his twice-daily walks, a good play in the garden, and being part of family activities.

He’d love an active family who can take him on adventures, but he’s just as happy chilling at home after. Ollie can live with other compatible hounds or as an only hound, as long as he’s not left alone for long hours each day.

If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, adventure-ready mate, come say hi to Ollie this Sunday. He might just be the one 💛

Looking to add another companion to your family? 🩶

This lovely boy, Buster is hoping to find a quieter home with someone who already has another medium to large dog for company, as having a canine friend around really helps build his confidence and helps him settle. 🐾

He’s a gentle boy who enjoys a calm environment and would suit a home happy to let him build confidence at his own pace. He also enjoys puzzle toys and using his brain. 🧩

If you’ve been thinking about adding another calm companion to your pack, he could be a wonderful fit.

Video features him meeting Bluey, who was adopted through May Hounds last year.
