The Lions Club of Helensville was formed as a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs in 1962 to further the aims of the International Association in Helensville and the surrounding area. In the years since the club was founded we have supported numerous local organisations including St.John Ambulance, Fire Brigades, Schools, local social support agencies, Rautawhiri park developmen
t, Coastguard, numerous youth and other organisations. We have built playgrounds, assisted sports groups and installed smoke alarms in houses. This expresses the true mission of Lionism. The Helensville Lions Club strives to support as many local organisations as possible that require assistance be it monetary or by practical means. We hold fundraising events regularly and all money made is directed to the community projects and organisations we support. The members also have strong fellowship, which we enjoy at our two regular monthly meetings and when participating in community projects. At these meetings we have dinner, hear from guest speakers as well as discussing club affairs. Members partners are included in many events and the club welcomes both male and female members.
