πŸ’› Looking out for each other means being prepared. πŸ’›

Fire drills might feel like a small interruption to our day, but they play a big part in keeping our Shanti Niwas family safe. Practising regularly means that if a real emergency ever happens, we'll all know the way out, stay calm, and help one another along the way. πŸš’

What a lovely way to start the week! πŸ› Yesterday our group gathered at Friendship Hall for our usual activities before heading out together to Olive Indo-Nepali Eatery in New Lynn for a delicious buffet lunch.

Vegetable curry, Nepali dhal, tandoori butter roti, salad and rice β€” all enjoyed around a shared table with plenty of laughter and conversation. Good food, good company, great times indeed!

Friday group: Citizens Advice Bureau

Last week our Friday group hosted a session with Greg Innes!

The CAB does quietly essential work in our communities β€” free, confidential information and advice for anyone who walks through the door, on everything from employment and tenancy to consumer rights and immigration. It was great to hear about it first-hand.

Thanks for your time, Greg. πŸ™

A very special welcome back.

This Tuesday our chapter welcomed back Makarand Kevthekar, who has been away for two years following a stroke and time in care.

Two years is a long time to be out of the room. Seeing him walk back in, fit and well and ready to pick up where he left off, was the highlight of our week.

Makarand β€” we've missed you. Welcome back. πŸ‘
