What a wonderful celebration of culture and diversity at Viva Eclectika 2026, held on 15 August organized by New Zealand Asia Association. It was inspiring to see people from different cultural backgrounds come together through music and dance performance
Congratulations to all the winners and a huge well done to every performer who took part. Your talent, passion, and dedication made the event truly special.
PIF was delighted to witness this vibrant celebration, which beautifully reflected the richness of Aotearoa New Zealand’s diverse communities.

We were honoured to hear an Imam, Priest, and Rabbi speak so openly about their personal journeys into spiritual leadership, their training, and the sacred responsibility they carry both religiously and pastorally. PIF was proud to partner on this event alongside Beth Shalom Progressive Congregation and Holy Trinity Cathedral. VIVA ELECTIKA 2026
Viva Eclectika promotes positive race relations through creative fusions which embraces dancers from at least two different cultures. Experience this family-friendly event which is vibrant, spectacular and
electrifying. In 2024 the event captivated a packed auditorium of about 2000 enthusiastic cheerers.
In VE2026, the cultures represented in the dance fusion include: Bulgarian, Burundian, Borneon, Chinese, Congolese, Colombian, Filipino, Indian, Maori, Russian, Sri Lankan, Thai, Tuvaluan, Russian, Vietnamese, Yakut.
How will two of these cultures combine to showcase diversity, inclusiveness and cohesion? Which
combined team would win the First prize of $4000, Second prize $2500, Third prize $1500; Highly
recommended $600? You will not want to miss this!

As part of our ongoing commitment to social cohesion and interfaith understanding, we were honoured to welcome Dr Melissa Derby, New Zealand’s Race Relations Commissioner, to Little Pearls Educare and PIF.
She observed learning in our centres, engaged with teachers, and shared her passion for education as a human right, highlighting the importance of early literacy, equitable access to education, and strong partnerships with whānau. We are grateful for her time, insights, and continued commitment to strengthening diversity, inclusion, and understanding across Aotearoa New Zealand.
PIF was also pleased to be involved in the development of the 4th Edition of the Religious Diversity Statement, an important resource developed by the Te Kāhui Tika Tangata Human Rights Commission to promote respect, inclusion, and understanding in our diverse society.
