This Vision Awareness Week, weโ€™re proud to play our part in helping bring the gift of sight to communities in the Pacific. ๐ŸŒโค๏ธ

Through The Avondale Lions Club Auckland New Zealand, we collect donated glasses from local optometrists, send them to our Lions sorting depot, and from there they make their way to Lions Eye Clinics in Tonga and Fiji, where they can help someone see more clearly.

A simple pair of glasses can make a huge difference โ€” helping someone read, work, learn and enjoy everyday life. ๐Ÿ‘“โœจ

A big thank you to our local optometrists and everyone in our community who donates their glasses and supports this important work.

Your old glasses could help someone see a whole new world. ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’™

Four of The Avondale Lions Club Auckland New Zealand popped along to their monthly Community Bingo โ€” just a gold coin to play, plus raffles and door prizes!

And our very own Karen Barry took home a meal hamper! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฆ 2026 ANZI FORUM โ€” MAKING LIFELONG INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS! ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒ

A few photos from the 2026 ANZI Forum, held at the Holiday Inn Auckland Airport in Mฤngere.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our Avondale Lions ladies to connect, learn and make lifelong international friendships with fellow Lions from across the region. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

A special moment was seeing Karen with Past International President Barry Palmer from Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿฆ, and Danielle with Past International President Brian Sheehan. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฆ

And even though Paul, our one and only male member, wasnโ€™t at the forum, the ladies didnโ€™t forget him! ๐Ÿ˜‚ We picked up a new LCI tie for Paul from the merchandise stand. ๐Ÿ‘”๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Karen also delivered a full Canva presentation to an audience of 70+ people, while Danielle shared her knowledge and experience with a speech on Membership as part of the forum.

Proud to see our small The Avondale Lions Club Auckland New Zealand out there representing, learning, sharing and making connections with Lions from near and far. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Before we wrap up our Pink Ribbon posts, hereโ€™s a look at some of the amazing prizes that were up for grabs on the day! ๐ŸŽ

From raffle and door prizes to some awesome silent auction items, there was plenty to get excited about! ๐Ÿ˜

A huge thank you again to all our generous sponsors and donors who helped make these prizes possible. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’—
