We mastered the Fiqh of Temporary Cash Waqf and how it is differ from the Fiqh of Qard Al Hasan. The Awqaf system was founded by the beloved Prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be upon him) and it is an excellent platform to operate from as it is simple and readily acceptable to everyone who sees the great benefits it provides for community empowerment. Awqaf New Zealand was established in F
ebruary 2011 in response to the successful implementation of Qurbani (Eid Sacrifice) project. The main role for which Awqaf New Zealand was established is to revive and increase the effectiveness of the role of the Islamic Waqf to create mechanisms to make the optimum use of Islamic charities and to create a scientific and practical way to be self-sufficient in accordance with Islamic Sharia. In addition, Awqaf New Zealand urges Muslims of the Western world to contribute to the physical and human resources in the development of Awqaf. In order to achieve this a road map has been established which looks into four main aspects; awareness, finding charity potentials in countries & Muslim communities, identifying a mechanism for action, and the establishment of conferences and specialized workshops. It was established that a large charitable potential is found in the Muslim world and Muslims in non-Muslim countries. Estimated sacrifices of Muslims in the western countries reach over 5 million sacrifices per year. In addition, the Gulf States alone sacrifice externally over 600 thousand. Moreover, 230 thousand Hadi sacrifices are implemented by the Indonesian pilgrims. These potential charities along with Awqaf New Zealand’s proposed mechanism to take advantage of the wool, skin and bones of these sacrifices will expand the benefit to a larger scale than it already is. Awqaf New Zealand has successfully completed the first stage of awareness allowing us to move from the stage of awareness to the stage of practical application through the implementation of the agreements signed with the visited Awqaf institutions. Plans has been put together to insure the success of Awqaf New Zealand’s goals. Short term goals and long term goals have been identified with defined activities to support the overall success of this project.
