Happy Birthday to Freemasonry in New Zealand!

The Grand Lodge of Antient, Free and Accepted Masons of New Zealand (the Grand Lodge of New Zealand - Freemasons New Zealand) recently celebrated its 137th birthday, being constituted/founded on 29th April 1890 in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Our first Grand Master was Most Worshipful Brother Henry Thomson.

We are part of the Sovereign Grand Lodge in New Zealand.

Of course, Freemasonry has been in New Zealand since 1842 in the form of other Constitutions.

We currently have 166 Lodges and 4456 members throughout New Zealand and in Samoa.

As we reminisce our 2025 season ceremony with a new look, the NAPTA Charitable Trust would like to thank United Lodge No.340, Freemasons NZ for their continued sponsorship of the NAPTA awards.
