Ahi ahi mārie – as you’ll have seen, we’ve got a Severe Thunderstorm Watch from for Auckland, just in time for school pickup and rush hour 😫 (3pm to 8pm today). For our whānau on Aotea Great Barrier, the timing of your watch has changed slightly (5pm to 10 pm).

Some friendly reminders:

☔ Stay alert as we’ve got potential for localised heavy downpours, strong winds and even the low risk of a small tornado. Look out for surface and flash flooding and remember NEVER drive, walk or play in floodwaters.

👍Keep updated with the latest forecast on the MetService website or download the app from Google Play or the App Store. There’s a new feature in the app - you can turn on Severe Weather alerts to now get notifications for ALL watches and warnings. Just go to Notifications > Severe Weather, switch it on, and choose your location.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children
• Supervising activities, games, homework, and play
• Building positive relationships with children and families
• Supporting before-school, after-school, and holiday programmes
• Being a positive role model every day

What We’re Looking For
✔ Energetic and positive attitude
✔ Great communication and teamwork skills
✔ Reliable and responsible
✔ Experience with children is a bonus — but not essential
✔ First Aid Certificate or childcare experience is helpful
✔ Must be able to pass relevant background checks
