The theme for this year's World First Aid Day is Lifelong First Aid, and the importance of having lifelong first aid learning.

We're trained over 108,000 people in first aid and CPR during the past year through our ASB St John in Schools, Poipoia te Pitomata and 3 Steps for Life programmes, showing that no matter your age, having first aid skills and knowledge helps to create safer, healthier and more resilient communities.

It is with the greatest of sadness that our St John family learnt of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, who was Sovereign Head of the Order of St John for more than 70 years. We will be forever grateful for her guidance and support.

Our thoughts are with His Majesty King Charles III and the rest of the royal family. https://fal.cn/3rIOv

Meet our newest Super Saver, Taurikura!

On Friday a special assembly was held at Te Wharekura o Arowhenua School in Invercargill for five year old Taurikura, who helped save mum Renei's life after a cardiac arrest at home.

Our Community Educator Alan presented Taurikura with her ASB Super Saver Bravery Award cape and certificate, along with Tracy from St John Invercargill and Liz from ASB Bank.

Whakamihi ki a Taurikura - well done Taurikura! 🏆

Hawke's Bay Community Educator Susan and 3 Steps for Life Lead Cody attended the Family Services Expo in Napier yesterday where around 500 people learnt CPR!
Susan was also able to reconnect with Flaxmere Primary School students who performed at the expo, and who she previously taught through our ASB St John in Schools programme.

We love getting out and about, and supporting our local communities!

We've been delivering first aid, leadership and wellbeing through Poipoia te Pitomata to rangatahi in Timaru this week, supported by the Aoraki Foundation. It was a privilege to see the growth of these amazing young people over the four days, realising their strengths and potential. Huge thanks to Sally Jarvie for your mahi! 💛

Congratulations to our Hawke's Bay Community Educator Susan, who has taught over 10,000 students! 🥳

National 3 Steps for Life Lead Cody surprised Susan with a certificate and pin while she was delivering yesterday - we're so lucky to have passionate educators like Susan delivering first aid, safety and wellbeing, and empowering young people in their communities 👏
