This Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, we're exploring the connection between te reo Māori, te ao Māori and the mahi we do every day at Well Women & Family.

As a service providing cervical screening, contraception, sexual health checks and HPV vaccination, we work in a space that is deeply personal. This week, we're reflecting on some of the concepts, values and kupu that connect to women's health, wellbeing and the importance of culturally safe care.

Free cervical screening is coming!

Both major parties have committed to making cervical screening free in 2027 for people aged 25-69 who meet New Zealand's publicly funded healthcare eligibility criteria.

Cervical screening plays an important role in preventing cervical cancer by detecting HPV and identifying cell changes before they become cancerous. Regular screening can help save lives.
