On Friday 12th June, we celebrated Caitlin's final day as Centre Manager with a very special mat time filled with love, appreciation, and blessings.

Pastor Sheldon from opened the celebration with a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on Caitlin's dedication and impact on our centre. Miji then prayed a beautiful blessing over her as she embarks on her next chapter.

The children shared two beautiful songs, followed by a touching video montage featuring children and staff sharing their farewell messages and special memories. We then gathered to sing "Happy Last Day" to Caitlin as she enjoyed a farewell cake, and presented her with thoughtful cards from the children and gifts from the staff.

The celebration concluded with a meaningful morning devotion, providing a special opportunity to reflect, give thanks, and wish Caitlin every success for the future.

It was a truly memorable and heartfelt morning, and a wonderful way to honour Caitlin and all she has contributed to our centre. We wish her goodbye and good luck as she begins this exciting new journey.

"The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."

On Thursday, the children from the Tui and Kingfisher classes had the wonderful opportunity to visit . The children were excited and engaged throughout the visit, but most importantly, they had the opportunity to learn about the value of participating in church activities, learning about Jesus, and applying His teachings of love, kindness, and compassion in their everyday lives.

Being involved in church activities can positively support a child’s spiritual, emotional, and social development. It encourages children to build strong values, develop a sense of belonging within a caring community, and grow in kindness, respect, gratitude, and compassion through shared experiences and learning.

A very special thank you to Victor for his warm welcome and detailed introduction to church. We truly appreciate the time and effort shared with our children.

Today in our Kiwi (under 2's) room our children and teachers wore pink to celebrate Pink Shirt Day 💗

They came dressed in pink to spread kindness, friendship, and inclusion. From our pink-themed activities to the yummy pink food we enjoyed together, the whole day was filled with smiles, laughter, and aroha.

At our centre, we believe in creating a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and loved. Pink Shirt Day reminds us of the importance of these values while spreading God’s love, kindness, and forgiveness to those around us.

As we teach our children about friendship and compassion, we reflect on the beautiful message in Ephesians 4:32:
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.”

Together, we can nurture hearts that are kind, accepting, and love God. 💕

What a great time we had celebrating World Book Day last Thursday!

Our centre was filled with imagination as children and teachers came dressed as their favourite book characters. Could you spot the superheroes, princesses, and even a special visit from the Gruffalo? 👀

We were so lucky to have some wonderful parent guests join us to read stories about ladybugs, The Cat in the Hat, and Going on a Bear Hunt — such a special experience for everyone involved.

And the fun didn’t stop there… our teachers got into the spirit too, dressing up as hungry caterpillars and all sorts of amazing animals!

A big thank you to our families for helping make the day so memorable. What a fantastic way to celebrate the joy of books and storytelling!

Our children shared something truly special to celebrate Anzac Day ❤️

They visited a local retirement village, singing songs, handing out homemade Anzac cookies, and spending time connecting with the residents. Together with Pastor Amy from , they also explored a lesson on the fruits of the Spirit—spreading kindness, joy, and love.

There were plenty of smiles all around 💛 A beautiful reminder of the power of connection across generations.

This week our children embraced their creativity through painting in so many wonderful ways 🎨

They explored making handprints, using their fingers to create dots and pictures, and experimenting with brushes to bring their own imaginative ideas to life. Alongside this, they painted on reused puzzle pieces, turning them into bright and beautiful works of art.

Each child expressed themselves uniquely, showing confidence, curiosity, and joy in the process.

Through these experiences, children are learning to:
• Express their thoughts and ideas through art
• Strengthen fine motor skills and coordination
• Explore colours, patterns, and textures
• Use their imagination to create meaningful pictures
• Develop confidence and independence
• Learn to care for our environment by reusing materials

We celebrate the special, God-given creativity in each child as they create, explore, and grow.

At Kingdomcity Childcare, Christian learning is a meaningful part of each day, helping our tamariki grow in their understanding of God, Jesus, the Bible, and Christian values.

We begin our mornings together with Bible stories, prayer, and worship, creating a calm and positive start that helps children feel grounded and connected. Throughout the day, we explore values through the Fruits of the Spirit, with children proudly choosing how they will show love, kindness, patience, and more.

Our learning is brought to life through Bible stories like Jonah and the Whale and The Good Samaritan, where children discover what it means to care for others, show kindness, and look after the world around them. These experiences support not only spiritual growth, but also language, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.

We love seeing our tamariki live out these values each day. We would love to see our tamariki being Good Samaritans outside of the centre too! If you capture a moment of your child showing kindness, helping others, or demonstrating the Fruits of the Spirit at home or in the community, please feel free to share a photo with their teachers or email Nikkey.

🚒🔥 A Special Visit from our Local Takapuna Fire Station! 🔥🚒

Today we had some very exciting visitors at our childcare centre — our amazing local firefighters!

The children loved learning about the important work firefighters do to keep our community safe. They showed us the special uniforms they wear and explained why their gear helps protect them when they go to emergencies.

We also got to see their big fire truck up close — which was definitely a highlight! The firefighters showed us their equipment, including the fire hose, and talked about how they use it to put out fires.

During a short presentation, the firefighters also taught us some important fire safety tips, including why smoke detectors are so important in our homes and what we should do if we hear one go off.

The children were full of curiosity and asked some fantastic questions. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone!

A huge thank you to our wonderful firefighters from Takapuna Fire Station for taking the time to visit us and teach the children about staying safe. We loved having you here! ❤️
