It’s Volunteer Week, and we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible people behind Te Atatū Foodbank. ❤️

Every food parcel packed, every donation sorted, every shelf stocked, every family supported – none of it would happen without our amazing volunteers.

Our volunteers generously give their time, energy, and care to help ensure local families have access to food when they need it most. They work quietly behind the scenes, often without recognition, simply because they want to make a difference in our community.

To each and every one of you: thank you. We are so grateful for your commitment, kindness, and willingness to serve others. You are the heart of our Foodbank, and our community is stronger because of you.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking these wonderful people during Volunteer Week. 👏💚

A huge thank you to Sophie and Maeve, who organised this fantastic food collection as part of their Gold Koru Community Action project. Local legends!!

With support from Peninsula Primary School and To’a Brownies, they collected a wonderful amount of food that will now be distributed to local families through Te Atatū Foodbank.

It’s inspiring to see young people stepping up to make a difference in their community. The food collected will help stock our shelves and go directly into food parcels for families who need a helping hand.

Thank you, Sophie and Maeve, and everyone at Peninsula Primary School and To’a Brownies who contributed. Your kindness and hard work will have a real impact on many local families. ❤️

We’ll be at there and would love to see you there.

If you’d enjoy a hot meal, a chat, and some excellent company, come along. There’s no cost, no catch, and everyone is welcome.

There’s also a general knowledge quiz at 6pm if you’re keen to test yourself (or just have a laugh with others).

🌾 A Huge Thank You to JMP Engineering! 🌾

We would like to extend a MASSIVE thanks to JMP Engineering for their incredible generosity in donating an entire pallet load of rice to Te Atatū Foodbank for the second year in a row.

If you’ve received a food parcel from us over the past year, there’s a very good chance some of the rice in your parcel came from this amazing donation. Rice is one of our most useful pantry staples, helping families create filling and nutritious meals when times are tough.

The support of local businesses like JMP Engineering makes a real difference and helps us continue providing food parcels to families throughout our community.

Thank you for standing alongside us and helping ensure local families have food on the table. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support. ❤️

April was another busy month at Te Atatū Foodbank, with school holidays and five Thursdays contributing to increased demand for support in our local community.

Here is what we achieved together in April:

107 bookings completed

457 people supported
226 adults
231 children

125 volunteer hours generously given, including our amazing volunteer transport team

Our referrals come from many places including families reaching out directly, neighbours helping neighbours, local schools, Plunket, and other social services. Every booking supports someone right here in our Te Atatū community.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers, donors, and supporters. Your generosity helps us continue to show up for local families when they need it most. Every contribution makes a difference.

Another week of food collections done ✅

A huge thank you to everyone in our community who continues to support Te Atatū Foodbank. Every donation helps us keep food going out to local families who need a hand. ❤️

We’re also on the lookout for some extra shelving to help us better organise our food storage and make packing parcels easier and more efficient.

If anyone has any spare sturdy storage shelves they no longer need and would be willing to donate, we’d love to hear from you.

Please send us a private message if you can help. Thank you again for backing our community foodbank 🙏

Today we just want to pause and say a huge THANK YOU 💛

Behind every food parcel that goes out, there’s a team of incredible volunteers giving their time, energy, and care to support families in our community. Whether it’s packing, sorting, delivering, or simply showing up with a smile — you make it all possible.

We’re so grateful for each and every one of you. The impact you’re making reaches further than you probably realise.

From all of us at Te Atatū Foodbank — thank you for being the heart of what we do 🙏

A huge thank you to Lucy Gilfillan for the generous donation of four big boxes of biscuits to the Te Atatū Foodbank this week! 🍪

It’s kindness like this that helps us add those little extras to the food parcels we give out to local families. Sometimes something as simple as a biscuit can bring a bit of comfort and joy to someone’s day.

We really do live in such an awesome, caring community, and we’re so grateful for people like Lucy who step up to help others. 💛

We’ve had some incredible support for the Te Atatū Foodbank over the past couple of weeks and we want to say a huge thank you to some amazing people and organisations helping us support local families. 💛

🙏 St Paul’s – thank you for your generous donation a couple of weeks ago. Your kindness helps us continue putting food on the table for families in our community.

🚗 A big thank you to the wonderful team at The Kindness Collective for today’s bootload of food. Every item makes a real difference and we’re so grateful for your support.

🤝 Thank you to Sana at CARE Waitākere Trust for organising a collection for us — we really appreciate you thinking of our community.

🥣 And thank you to the team at Tasti for the boxes of muesli bars and snacks (pictured below) that arrived just in time for the school holidays. These will be such a treat for the kids!

💻 A special thanks also to Izzy for donating a laptop — your generosity is hugely appreciated.

Because of support like this, we’re able to keep helping families in our community when they need it most. It truly takes a village. 💚

Thank you for being part of it.
