The street Carnival costume parade showcasing character, cultural and fantastical costumes, hot rhythms, theatrical performances and dance providing a festive atmosphere and exhilarating blend of creativity, excitement, partying and a mixture of sounds. Young people are spoilt for choice with a designated youth hub full of fun activities to participate in throughout the day including art, face painting, bouncy castles and train rides! The Auckland International Carnival concludes in style on Saturday late afternoon with a spectacular closing ceremony and entertainment, including prize giving for the costume parade winners. Expected to become a major fixture on Auckland’s event calendar, the Auckland International Carnival’s focus is on giving back to our children and communities through an exciting event that brings Auckland together!
