Unlike that late August Sunday, tomorrow is looking like an absolutely cracking spring morning for it!!!
If you’re one of those lucky enough to be able to on a weekday, come down and say hi. There’s bound to be some of our members taking advantage of the conditions.

There’s a saying in flying, that the plane doesn’t know that it’s windy 😄
This just means that there’s more airspeed over the wing and an aircraft can actually appear to move backwards from the ground while still be perfectly happily in flight.
Flying in those conditions takes some skill though, and sometimes it’s better to not risk our models.
A late August Sunday proved to be a case like this, and gave Stew our club captain a chance to manicure our airfield beautifully as he often does. Thanks Stew!

That’ll buff out mate!

A part of our hobby widely known but rarely shown.
Mishaps happen occasionally, but are an opportunity to learn both how to avoid them, and how to rebuild from the aftermath. This is a trainer aircraft that succumbed to gravity on Wednesday just gone. It might look bad here, but models have been resurrected from worse places.
No pilots were harmed in this incident 😏 Get back in the air and keep flying 👍

Weather is looking OK early Saturday morning this weekend if you’ve been thinking of stopping by to check out what it’s all about. Likely getting drizzly and gusty towards lunchtime though.
Sunday morning is looking to be dryer but quite gusty. We might be lucky to have that change - we’ve asked our club secretary Tony to order in some better weather for us, as he has had a pretty good record previously 😏

The runway of our fantastic inner city airfield runs North-East to South-West. In the afternoons this can result in the only negative of our location - facing straight at the sun while flying in the afternoon.
On still, winter late afternoons though, the light makes for a stunning experience!
