On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ Luke 24:1-7

Pray for the Mangyan tribal community of Sitio Culasisi, in Sablayan on Mindoro island, after fires destroyed 7 homes, including the pastor's home, and the chapel.

MV leader for Batangas and Mindoro, Ps Danny Macuha, is already on-site at Sitio Culasisi to co-ordinate relief distribution. On 1 - 4 April, the Mangyan tribal ministry that he leads will conduct a youth camp with 15 tribal churches and missions joining.

They are expecting more than 250 campers from different sitios, barangays and municipalities of Occidental (West) Mindoro and request our prayers "for safety, salvation of visitors, food for delegates, and that many young people will renew their commitment in serving God".

After the camp, the Bible students and pastors will join to rebuild the chapel in Sitio Culasisi, and are praying for God's provision for the materials and activity.

Pray for the Philippines following last month's major earthquake north of Cebu, Taal volcano eruption north of Batangas, and now with typhoon 'Tino' currently intensifying as it moves west from Mindanao across Visayas and Leyte.

Our Field Coordinator / National Leader on Mindanao, Bishop Philip Gonzalez just messaged:

"Full force of the typhoon is here. A lot of highways are already flooded. We transferred to the church in case our river will overflow. Our rice field which is due to be harvested this week is underwater. Pray that we will still be able recover a big percentage of it."

Pray also for the CMA team scheduled to arrive Philippines on Friday.

Our Field Coordinators (Philip & Jemima Gonzales, Danny & Lorie Macuha) and Rolly & Nimfa Vasey are all working hard to mobilise relief alongside their fellow leaders to those affected. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Our Field Coordinators, Rolly & Nimfa Vasey were able to visit some of the affected communities yesterday for a damage survey.

They reported, “… it was really heart-breaking during our ocular visitation on the actual site … we can see families outside of their houses since the after-shock is still going on … “

Pray for all affected by the devastating earthquake north of Cebu City in the Philippines, where a ‘State of Calamity’ has been declared, with at least 69 people dead.

Our Field Coordinators Rolly & Nimfa Vasey report that:

“…. we are safe and ok. As of now, there are roads that are not passable yet so we can’t go for ocular damage survey but as per information from our brethren who called us, there are [many] who are affected and need immediate help. As soon as the roads are passable, we are ready to go around for ocular damage survey.”

Heavy typhoon rains have led to widespread flooding in several areas of Mindoro island, seriously affecting homes, crops, public spaces, and causing pre-emptive evacuations.

Our Field Coordinator for Mindoro & Batangs, Ps Danny Macuha sent us this report ...

Warm Christian greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I am writing to report the current situation of Occidental Mindoro, particularly among the tribal communities we serve under Baptist Tribal Mission, following the devastation caused by Typhoon Crising. The typhoon brought heavy rains and strong winds that severely affected both lowland and upland areas, especially the Mangyan tribal communities living in remote mountains and coastal regions. As a result, widespread flooding, landslides, and heavily damages the root crops. Vital infrastructures such as roads, bridges, and water systems are under floods, leaving many barangays isolated and delaying the arrival of external help.

Most of the affected families, especially in tribal areas, lost their sources of livelihood as their rice fields and root crops were damages. Houses made of light materials, as well as small tribal churches that serve both as places of worship and emergency shelters, were damaged. Many families were forced to evacuate to temporary shelters with limited access to food, clean water, and electricity. The situation was worsened by communication outages, making it difficult for local leaders to coordinate immediate responses.

As of this writing, many of our communities remain in need of prayers for the, rehabilitation of farms, provision of clean water systems, and repair of damaged churches. The road to recovery will be long, but by God’s grace, we believe we can restore what was lost and help strengthen the faith and resilience of our people.

We are grateful for your continued prayers, concern, and partnership in the ministry.

Your support is a great encouragement not only to us who serve but more importantly to the lives of our tribal brethren who experience God’s provision through your generosity. May the Lord continue to bless and use you mightily in advancing His Kingdom.

Love and Blessings,
Danny Macuha
