Do you want to shape the Auckland you want to live in?

Join us for an interactive workshop where rangatahi come together to imagine the Auckland they want to live in by 2035. Explore what makes the city feel like home, share your ideas for better transport, housing, climate action, and community spaces, and learn how local government decisions shape your day-to-day life.

Let’s co-create a youth vision for Auckland that will be shared with local leaders and mayoral candidates. No experience needed – just bring your ideas, energy, and curiosity.

What to Expect:
Welcome & Vision building – Connect with other young people and share what matters most to you and your community.

The power of local government – Learn how Auckland Council works, what powers they have, and how decisions shape everyday life.

Table Talks – Build your ideal Auckland using maps, story cards, and challenge scenarios to spark big ideas.

Reflection – Share your ideas, and leave a message for local leaders.

What if Wellington truly reflected the hopes we have for a just, sustainable, and thriving city — not in 30 years, but right now?

Re-imagine Pōneke is your chance to dream big, share ideas, and co-create a bold, people-powered vision for our city’s future. Together we’ll explore what a better Wellington could look like, from affordable housing and climate action, to transport, community spaces, and beyond.

This is a half-day unconference which means you help shape the agenda. Bring your ideas, join sessions that matter to you, or even lead one yourself. Along the way, a live illustrator will be capturing our shared vision in real time.
