We had a lovely opening for Kaipātiki - Nurturing a Love for Nature last Saturday at Northart, as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography. Thank you to all that could come along. Many children who participated in the IMAgEN8 workshops recently attended with their families to celebrate their work and our beautiful local area and we look forward to seeing many more visiting throughout the exhibition. Thank you again to our collaborators IMAgEN8 and to our generous sponsors Harvey Norman, Gordon Harris, Kaipātiki Project and Creative Communities NZ.

Maddy and the team at Crank did an incredible job building on previous Glam Your Wheels events to make this the best one yet.

Travel Lightly is a project funded by Upper Harbour Local Board, which aims to make sustainable travel the first choice. This way we can start it since a young age. Events like these build confidence and sustainable travel fun. Over 300 students took part on the day, which included skills, creative decorations, fun games, parades and spot prizes.

We loved collaborating with Bigfoot Adventure, Crank and Hobsonville Point Primary School to bring this day to life!

𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀. The clothes most of us buy new today — whether for style or just practicality — are made from plastic-based materials, manufactured through resource-heavy processes, and simply not built to last. Sustainable options are still hard to come by, whatever you're shopping for.

That's why this event felt important to us. In partnership with Fashion Revolution New Zealand during EcoFest, we hosted a screening of 𝑭𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅 at Bridgeway Cinema — bringing together community members, makers, and slow fashion lovers for an evening of film, conversation, and high-quality vintage racks to browse.

Over 100 people joined us. It reminded us how much joy there is in finding groups of people already living these values — and how powerful it is to gather around a shared cause, even one a little outside our usual lane.

Ngā mihi nui to everyone who came, donated, and connected. We'd love to do it again. 💚

A massive thank you to everyone who came along on Saturday to support the Litter Clean Up and take part in the e-bike trials.

With epic weather on our side, we removed 35kg of litter, including three tires, sheets of plywood, and reported three potential industrial dumping sites. With an incredible 75 volunteers turning out, we’re absolutely thrilled with the result and hope you are too.

This event marked the first of an annual clean-up partnership with Te Hōnonga a Iwi - . We love the work that they are doing! We’re excited to be planning three more community clean-ups across the North Shore before the end of the year.

We also had over 20 people test ride an e-bike, sparking some really positive conversations about local paths and cycling resources. Nearly 50 people entered the draw to win a $1,000 E‑Bike Evo voucher, a huge congratulations to Clare Lupton — this years winner!

We were especially pleased to hear that the test rides created a safe, welcoming way for people who’d never felt confident or comfortable trying an e-bike before. This was a new activation for us, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. A big thank you to Bigfoot Adventures and their team for making the rides so fun and approachable.

Finally, we’re launching a Litter Legends WhatsApp group for anyone keen to connect, coordinate their own clean-ups, or stay in the loop about upcoming local litter events.
