Healthy Meal For Tamariki 🥗😁

Getting your young ones to eat more healthy can be quite challenging. One great way to make a salad fun for kids is to add lots of interesting textures, like crispy noodles, and their favourite fruits and veges.

Try this delicious salad thats fresh and light

Crispy Noodle, Chicken & Mandarin Salad

Ingredients:
- 500g mixed salad leaves
- 2 spring onions, trimmed, thinly sliced diagonally
- 1 small red capsicum, seeded, thinly sliced
- 2 mandarins, peeled and broken into segments
- 140g High Mark Crispy Noodles Traditional Flavour
- 50g cried cranberries
- 2 cups (270g) finely shredded skinless cooked chicken
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander, plus extra to garnish

Dressing ingredients:
- 1/4 cup rice wine
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon castor sugar
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh chilli
- 2 teaspoons of grated fresh ginger
- 2 teaspoons grated fresh garlic

Method:
- STEP ONE :
Place salad leaves, spring onions, mandarin and capsicum in a large mixing bowl. Toss to combine.
- STEP TWO:
To make dressing, place ingredients in a small bowl and stir to dissolve the sugar. Set aside.
-STEP THREE:
Add dressing, noodles, cranberries and chicken just before serving. Gently toss. Divide among 3 bowls.
- STEP FOUR:
Serve topped with coriander.
Tip: Save cooking time by buying pre-cooked rotisserie chicken or smoked chicken.

⛱️Summer Tips for Keeping Active! 🤸‍♂️
Summer is a great time to get moving and spend time with your whānau (family). Walking, running, dancing, or playing outside is good for your health and a fun way to be together.

Ways to Keep Active 🎽🤸‍♂️

- Swim at your local beaches (Wai o Taiki bay, Mission Bay and Saint Heliers Beach). But before you slap sunscreen and put on your togs, check-in with the Safe Swim App (Website) on what local beaches are safe to swim in.

- For those with children, or anyone looking to stay active over the holidays, take a drive to our local Panmure Basin. You can enjoy a relaxing walk or make use of the free exercise equipment located along the track. Just up the road, you’ll also find our local Maungarei Mountain—perfect for a scenic walk and stunning views from the top.

- For those who enjoy bike rides during this summer but are in need of fix up come down to the local Bike Hub. located in Maybury Reserve on Taniwha Street, where they can repair any damages on your bike.

Play Together 👫

- If you are a solo parent or busy working during these holidays but would like your children to be involved in playgroups and make friends. the Tamaki Play Centre Association, located in 109 Taniwha Street.

- Creating fun scavenger hunts, where kids search for specific leaves, rocks, or flowers. You can create a list of items commonly found in your local park or backyard.

- Going to local parks that have fun playgrounds are great for children. as they can stay active, have fun, make new friends and most importantly breaks them away from their devices. local parks around our area: Eastview Reserve Playground, Riddel Road Playground, Fernwood Place Playground, Madill's Farm Playground, Dunkirk Road Playground.
