⛱️Summer Tips for Keeping Active! 🤸♂️
Summer is a great time to get moving and spend time with your whānau (family). Walking, running, dancing, or playing outside is good for your health and a fun way to be together.
Ways to Keep Active 🎽🤸♂️
- Swim at your local beaches (Wai o Taiki bay, Mission Bay and Saint Heliers Beach). But before you slap sunscreen and put on your togs, check-in with the Safe Swim App (Website) on what local beaches are safe to swim in.
- For those with children, or anyone looking to stay active over the holidays, take a drive to our local Panmure Basin. You can enjoy a relaxing walk or make use of the free exercise equipment located along the track. Just up the road, you’ll also find our local Maungarei Mountain—perfect for a scenic walk and stunning views from the top.
- For those who enjoy bike rides during this summer but are in need of fix up come down to the local Bike Hub. located in Maybury Reserve on Taniwha Street, where they can repair any damages on your bike.
Play Together 👫
- If you are a solo parent or busy working during these holidays but would like your children to be involved in playgroups and make friends. the Tamaki Play Centre Association, located in 109 Taniwha Street.
- Creating fun scavenger hunts, where kids search for specific leaves, rocks, or flowers. You can create a list of items commonly found in your local park or backyard.
