This week we held our AGM & prize giving ceremony that was interrupted 30 minutes into the meeting when the siren went off for car fire.

The AGM is an evening where we can reflect on events of the last 12 months & look forward to the next 12. A time to thank all those at home and at workplaces that help make all this possible.

This financial year, July 1 2025 to June 30, 2026, we had our busiest year on record attending 111 jobs.

The whole crew voted on our Charter Awards of Commitment, Courageous, Teamwork, Dignity, Positive. These values are what define our brigade.

Awards:
Commitment: Mark Lonergan
Courageous: Poppy Wood
Teamwork: Vassily Roukine
Dignity: Judy Brady
Positive: Chris Taylor

Most Callouts: James Brady
Training Attendance: Mark
Most Improved FF: Vassily
Med First Responder: Mark
Brigade Champion: Karen Maddren
The Paddle: Damian Spiers
Honorary Life Member: Alan Davie-Martin

Presenting the awards was the final official duty for outgoing Chief, James Brady. James is stepping down to the Deputy role while our current Deputy, Chris, steps up to lead the brigade as Chief Fire Officer.

The loud explosions you just heard are from the RNZAF bombing range at South Head, expect a few more over the next few days until July 9

A record year for jobs attended without any significant natural (weather) events hitting our area

Funnily enough the actual total was 111, small glitch hasn’t recorded the last three jobs we attended.

Thanks to our amazing crew for making themselves available at all hours of the day/night and thanks so much for the support we receive from our loved ones at home that help make this all possible.

June wasn’t very busy at, we had one job early in the month then 3 weeks later had 3 in one day.
