CLAY WORKS POTTERS’ MARKET – MESSAGE FROM ST COLUMBA GREY LYNN

An awesome display and sale of pottery from emerging and well-known NZ potters from Tamaki Makaurau | Auckland and beyond. In its 12th year, and a 'go to' event in Auckland's arts calendar, this event doubles as a fundraiser for St Columba's significant community work - including its weekly community lunch for 60-70 people. Ideal timing to find a unique gift for Mothers Day on the Sunday. Eftpos provided.

Secure playground for your littlies while you browse. On Saturday morning, enjoy our sausage sizzle, and sale of plants and preserves too. Bring all the mums in your life, check out the pottery, then head off to a local cafe for coffee or lunch. Perfect.

The current track of Cyclone Vaianu can be found at www.metservice.com/warnings/tropical-cyclone-activity

📍Aotea Great Barrier Island has been upgraded to a RED warning for wind. The combination of damaging winds, heavy rain and coastal inundation makes this a multi-hazard, potentially life-threatening event.
📍The locations of the most severe impacts associated with Cyclone Vaianu, such as power outages, falling trees, flooding, slips, road closures and isolated communities are highly dependent on the cyclone's track.
📍Strong Wind and Heavy Rain Watches and Warnings are in force for much of the North Island and upper South Island Sunday and early Monday. Further areas are likely to be upgraded to Orange or Red as the cyclone approaches and its track becomes clearer.

Hey Aucklanders, with cyclone Vaianu coming our way, there are a few things to consider when it comes to your waste collection services. Please read below for all the details and keep an eye on our channels for updates.

1️⃣ Saturday kerbside collections (Friday areas)

Due to the public holiday we just had, areas that would usually be collected on Friday have a Saturday collection this week.
With windy conditions expected, leaving bins out can lead to them being blown over, creating hazards on our streets, and making a mess in your neighbourhood.
To avoid this, please:
✅ Put your bins out as usual
✅ Bring them back in promptly once collected

2️⃣ Inner City Sunday morning collections

These are still going ahead as planned.
To ensure the safety of our crews, we’re asking residents to hold onto their rubbish, and recycling until the Monday morning collection, unless it’s absolutely necessary.
If you do need to put your rubbish and recycling out:
✅ Place them out as close to collection time as possible
✅ Place them in a secure location to ensure nothing can blow away

3️⃣ Aotea / Great Barrier roadside collections

Due to the cyclone, we need time to assess road conditions and debris to keep our crews safe.
Collections next week will move out by one day:
📅 Monday → Tuesday 14 April
📅 Tuesday → Wednesday 15 April
Please don’t put rubbish or recycling out — keep it secured on your property and place out before 8am on your collection day.
If it’s still raining, hold onto your paper and cardboard. Wet paper and cardboard can’t be recycled, so keep it dry and put it out next time.

4️⃣ Inorganic Collections

Household on-property inorganic collections scheduled for Monday 13 April have been deferred to Saturday 18 April.
If your collection was booked for this date, you would have received an email with instructions.

🙌 Thank you for keeping everyone safe by following the above.
