Auckland, December 3, 2025 — The 7th Auckland International Youth Culture & Arts Festival took place at the Bruce Mason Centre, hosted by the New Zealand Multiculture and Arts Exchange Centre and supported by the New Zealand Aotearoa Art Academy, the New Zealand Culture and Arts Foundation, CubeeKidz, and Channel 33. Nearly a thousand attendees joined the event, which received strong community praise.
Chair Li Fen and Principal Wang Bin opened the evening with remarks celebrating the festival’s growth and the achievements of young performers, including hundreds of awards in international competitions and a 100% pass rate in major dance examinations.

The program featured more than 40 performances across ballet, jazz, contemporary dance, Chinese dance, vocal music, musical theatre, poetry, and specialty acts. From young children to advanced youth performers, participants showcased creativity, skill, and cultural diversity.

The festival highlighted the power of youth arts education and the dedication of teachers, volunteers, and supporters who helped create a professional and encouraging stage. Organizers expressed excitement for next year’s edition and the continued growth of young artists.

The 13th New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival concluded successfully in Auckland on Friday, 21 November 2025. Jointly organised by the New Zealand Asia Trust, New Zealand Māori Tourism, the New Zealand Culture and Arts Foundation, and the New Zealand Multicultural and Arts Exchange Centre, this year’s festival presented a vibrant programme featuring 14 carefully selected films.

The festival offered a series of engaging highlights. The opening red carpet ceremony welcomed guests from China, Japan, Korea, and New Zealand, followed by an awards ceremony attended by more than 600 spectators at the SkyCity Theatre. The film masterclass held at the University of Auckland drew over a hundred participants, while Chinese film professionals also joined a film forum hosted by the New Zealand Film Commission. In cinemas, filmmakers and cast members interacted with audiences through Q&A sessions, with many screenings selling out.

Top honours announced at the closing ceremony included: Best Film Patch the Wind, Chase the Shadow; Best Documentary The Sinking of Lisbon Maru; Best Director Yang Zi; Best Actor Makiya Yamaguchi (Japan); Best Supporting Actor Ci Sha; and Best Actress Angela Yuen (Hong Kong, China). The ceremony also featured the NOYIFF (New Order Youth International Film Festival) short film awards, attracting strong participation from young film enthusiasts. The festival concluded on a high note, celebrating creativity and cross-cultural exchange across the Asia-Pacific region.

Auckland, 9 November 2025 — The grand finals of the 5th Stars of Glory Language Arts Competition, hosted by Channel 33 New Zealand Mandarin TV, were held at SkyCity Theatre in celebration of the channel’s fifth anniversary.

Jointly organised by the New Zealand Multiculture and Arts Exchange Centre and the New Zealand Culture and Arts Foundation, the event featured nearly 100 young performers showcasing language and artistic talent through the original stage show Stars of Glory – The Young Journey to the West.

Awards were presented for outstanding performances, including gold, silver and bronze prizes, along with special honours for producers and partners. The evening highlighted cultural exchange and youth creativity, reinforcing Channel 33’s mission to promote Chinese language and culture in New Zealand.

The 22nd New Zealand Chinese Arts Exhibition officially opened at Lake House Arts Centre on the afternoon of 9 August 2025.

Co-hosted by the Pacific Culture and Arts Development Association Inc and the New Zealand Multiculture and Arts Exchange Centre, the exhibition was organised by the Pacific Culture and Arts Exchange Centre (New Zealand). Channel 33 New Zealand Chinese Television served as the media partner, with support from: Painting Pen Art School, New Zealand Seven-Colours Chinese Media Group, New Zealand Culture and Arts Foundation, and Waikato Chinese Culture & Art Centre (NZ).

The opening ceremony welcomed over one hundred attendees, including representatives from government, community organisations, art circles, media outlets, and special guests.

This long-running exhibition continues to showcase the vibrant contributions of Chinese artists to Aotearoa New Zealand’s cultural landscape.
