💗 Today we support Pink Shirt Day, a movement that stands against bullying and celebrates kindness, inclusion, and respect in our communities.

At the Nutrition Society of New Zealand, we recognise that wellbeing is about more than nutrition alone. Creating safe, supportive, and inclusive environments helps people thrive, at school, at work, and in the wider community.

This year, Pink Shirt Day encourages us all to be “Upstanders, not bystanders”: supporting others and speaking up when something isn’t right. 💕

Ka kite tātou i a tātou anō, let’s continue building a kinder and more inclusive Aotearoa together.

💐 Happy Mother’s Day from the Nutrition Society of New Zealand

Today we celebrate and acknowledge the many mothers, caregivers, and mother figures who nourish those around them in countless ways every day.

💛 From preparing meals and sharing traditions, to supporting the wellbeing of whānau and communities, food and care are often deeply connected.

This Mother’s Day, we also recognise the importance of supporting the health and wellbeing of mothers and caregivers themselves, through nourishment, rest, connection, and care.

🌸Wishing everyone in our community a meaningful Mother’s Day.

🤟 New Zealand Sign Language Week | 4–10 May 2026

Every May, Deaf Aotearoa leads New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) Week—a celebration of one of Aotearoa’s official languages, alongside te reo Māori.

This year marks a powerful milestone: 20 years since NZSL was recognised as an official language,a reflection of decades of advocacy, resilience, and collective mahi by the Deaf community.

NZSL Week is more than a celebration,it’s a call to action. It invites all of us to learn, connect, and contribute to a more inclusive Aotearoa, where communication is accessible for everyone.

As health and nutrition professionals, inclusion matters in everything we do,from clinical care to community wellbeing. Supporting equitable access to information, including through NZSL, helps ensure no one is left behind.

✨ This year’s theme: “An Aotearoa where anyone can sign anywhere”
