🤱 World Breastfeeding Week | 1–7 August
This year's theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," reminds us that breastfeeding is supported by more than individual effort. It thrives when parents and whānau are surrounded by evidence-based care, supportive communities, breastfeeding-friendly workplaces, and policies that help families flourish.
At the Nutrition Society of New Zealand, we recognise that every family's infant feeding journey is unique. While breastfeeding is recommended where possible, every parent and whānau deserves respectful, compassionate, and evidence-based support to make informed feeding decisions that are right for them and their pēpi.
This World Breastfeeding Week, let's continue working together to creating environments where every family feels supported from the very beginning. 💙
