🧸✨ Ooshies, Pokémon & Prize Day! ✨🧸

Tomorrow is the last Thursday of the school holidays, so we’re making the most of it at Our Village! 💙

We’ll have two Ooshies board games and plenty of Ooshies to play with, share and swap. Bring along your own spares, sets or favourites if you’d like to join in the trading fun!

A few of us may also be bringing along our Pokémon cards for a bit of show and tell… with a touch of trading, because apparently the adults can’t be trusted to just supervise the kids 😂

🎨 We’ll also have colouring in and creative activities out for anyone who wants to have a play.

🏆 And, of course, it’s prize collection day for the Te Kete Kai o Kaipara colouring competition! Winners will be contacted this afternoon, so keep an eye on your messages 👀

A very special shout-out to Gumboots & Farm Friends Early Learning Centre who brought in a huge bundle of entries from their tamariki. Thanks to everyone that entered, it was so awesome to see so many little artists getting involved! 💙

Here until 130pm today (1st October)

Thanks Rodney Community for dropping off the games ready for Te Kete Kai o Kaipara this Sunday. We couldn't help but get the corn hole and connect four out... just to test the setup in advance of course 😉💙🤭😅

Colouring in competition has a couple of entries going too! 👀

🎨 COLOURING COMPETITION TIME! 🎨

Calling all our little artists! 🖍️

As part of Te Awaroa Museum’s Heritage Day 2026 – Te Kete Kai o Kaipara, there are three food-themed colouring pictures to choose from and prizes up for grabs! 🍎🥕🐟

There are two age categories:
🖍️ Under 6 years
🖍️ 7–10 years
📅 Entries close: Sunday 4 October at 12.30pm
🏆 Judging: 1.00pm at Te Awaroa Museum Helensville

We’ll have copies available at Our Village, and we’ll be doing some colouring together on:

Come along, grab a colouring sheet and have some colouring fun with us! 💛

Can’t make it to the Museum on 4 October? You can leave your completed entry with us at Our Village and we’ll make sure it gets to the competition for you.

Copies are also available from Helensville Paper Plus Select, Helensville Library and Te Awaroa Museum Helensville.

Don’t forget to complete your name, age and contact details on your entry before returning it!

Got a pile of spare Ooshies? Still chasing that one elusive character? 😅

Come along to Our Village today 6th August, 9:30am–12:30pm at St Matthew's Church Lounge, Garfield Road, Helensville.

Bring along: ✨ Your spare Ooshies to swap ✨ Any unwanted Ooshies you'd like to donate ✨ Your checklist if you're trying to complete a collection!

Our regulars will be bringing along their sets and duplicates for a bit of friendly trading, and we'll happily take any unwanted Ooshies to help local tamariki (and... ahem... maybe a few parents too! 😉) complete their sets.

As always, you're welcome to stay for a cuppa, a bikkie, and a chat while you're here. If you've never visited before, this is the perfect excuse to pop in and see what Our Village is all about.

Our Village - Northwest here for our community every Thursday 9:30am to 12:30pm. Come along any week (including school holidays) for school uniform drop offs/browse the racks or simply for a chat/cuppa and connection.
