The New Zealand Indian Business Association recently participated in the two-day MIT Career Fest 2026 on 12–13 May at Manukau Institute of Technology.

MIT is home to a large and diverse student community across a broad range of disciplines, including Business, Digital Technologies, Nursing, Health, Social Work, Hospitality, and Trades such as Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.

As collaboration between industry and education providers grows, events like Career Fest are a great way to build professional networks, identify skill gaps, and connect students and graduates with jobs.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with students and gain insight into their aspirations, challenges, and career goals.

NZIBA remains committed to working closely with educational institutions to strengthen connections between employers and both local and international talent. The Association is already supporting this initiative by referring suitable candidates to employers and will continue expanding these efforts to help meet the long-term workforce needs of New Zealand businesses.

The NZIBA team was pleased to participate in the recent Industry Networking & Round Table Event at Massey University Campus alongside industry leaders and talented Master’s-level students preparing to graduate.

It was an insightful and engaging evening filled with meaningful discussions around career pathways, industry expectations, leadership, networking, and future opportunities. Events like these create valuable connections between industry and academia, while also helping businesses engage with an emerging pool of talented graduates ready to bring fresh ideas, innovation, and diverse perspectives into the workforce.

A sincere thank you to the organisers ( Dr. Loren Stangl -Sr. Lecturer in marketing & other faculty members) , fellow industry participants, and students for making the event such a constructive and successful experience.
