Now humans are tending its needs.
Come August we’ll plant,
For tūī who can’t
Resist all the berries and seeds.

🌱Great working bee today preparing this area for planting on 16 August. Thanks to those that could come along. We'll be back to finish the job but we'll need some more w**d matting.👍

Thanks to all the wonderful people that came to this morning's Friends of Shepherds Park working bee.
We did more w**ding in the bush, installed more beautiful plant signs in the ground and tried our hands at seed launching off the Lookout!

What’s going on here then!?!
If you’ve noticed that brown patch near the bottom football car park, don’t worry — it’s all part of a bigger plan. 🌱

We’re getting this site ready for planting on 16 August. Over the coming months and then years, this scruffy w**d patch will transform into lush native bush, creating food and habitat for our local birds.

Can’t wait to watch this space come alive! 🎶
