Kia Kaha Karekare has been invited to participate in this online grant writing workshop next week - see below. We would like to extend the invitation to expand the capacity and capability of our community.

Grant Writing with AI – A Workshop for Navigators of Resilience
Wed Sep 3, 2025 7pm – 9pm

There are still some spaces available for this online practical workshop - for people in the community space - whether you’re experienced or just starting out.
You don’t need to have used AI before, and you don’t need to have written a grant before either. This will help you explore some of the ways AI tools like ChatGPT can help with structuring ideas, drafting text and improving clarity, especially if you're new to grant writing or working with limited time. It will help you to:
- Look at how storytelling can be supported by AI-generated suggestions
- Talk honestly about the strengths and limits of using AI in this context
- Support each other to make progress - even small steps — toward a working draft
There is some preparation involved ahead of the workshop.

2 years ago, Cyclone Gabrielle changed our community, neighborhood and landscape for ever. For many, it was the most traumatic and damaging night of their life, taking roads, homes, belongings and much more away.
We are extremely proud of our Firefighters, volunteers and resilient community.
Today, we send our love and thoughts to those of you who have been heavily impacted and are still working through their recovery.
Much aroha. Kia Kaha.
