About Us
Ahikaa Trust established New Zealand's first bail and reintegration facility to provide short-term accommodation for defendants at the front end (bail) and back end (parole) of the criminal justice system. The facility boasts twelve rooms, each with a mezzanine floor bedroom and a cosy living area on the ground level, fully furnished with a kitchenette.
Ahikaa Trust was officially opened on 29th June 2018 by Sir Dr Pita Sharples and Lady Heeni Phillips-Williams, supported by The Sir Peter Williams QC Penal Reform League, Hoani Waititi Marae, Legal practitioners, community groups and members of the public. Our facility is the first 'purpose-built bail and re-integration' centre in New Zealand.
Ahikaa Trust is a collaboration of like minded service providers and Hoani Waititi Marae. Our Governance is primarily made up of stakeholders and Trustees of Hoani Waititi Marae.
Patua Te Ngangara ki Hoani Waititi Marae (PTN) is a Ministry of Health funded service, delivering methamphetamine education and support to consumers and whanau to assist in dealing with the effects of methamphetamine addiction.
