We were excited to be part of the Albert-Eden & Puketāpapa Eco Festival this year.

Here are some photos of the mural that was created using donated paints, brushes and materials that would have been heading to the landfill. Thank you to members of the community and Resene’s Paintwise program.

We want to say a huge mihi to Dinyar from the Auckland Table Tennis Association! Thanks for coming in and spending the afternoon at DCS, teaching us how to play table tennis. Everyone had so much fun & really got into it! We now have some aspiring table tennis stars in our ranks - it was such a hit that we might have to think about sourcing our own DCS table tennis set-up... 👀

We are very excited to continue working alongside ATTA in the future and can't wait for more table tennis afternoons. Thank you!

Today marks the beginning of Neurodiversity Celebration Week - a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences.

Founded in 2018 by Siena Castellon, a young autistic advocate who also has ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, this week is about transforming how neurodivergent people are perceived and supported.

Neurodiversity recognises that neurological differences are natural variations of the human brain. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and other neurodivergences bring unique strengths, perspectives and ways of thinking that enrich our communities.

This week, we celebrate the talents, creativity and determination of neurodivergent people across Aotearoa and around the world. Let’s continue to listen, learn and build inclusive communities where everyone can thrive.

How are you celebrating Neurodiversity Celebration Week?

Thank you Ali & Gardens4Health for coming in and helping us revive our garden. It's such a beautiful space now, we can't wait to enjoy it through the warmer months!

🌿 We had a mean time in the sunshine with the crew from The Disabled Citizens Society Inc revitalising their garden! 🌞 It was a huge day of soil hauling and planting in the sun, but the dream team cannot be stopped! (except for a quick lunchtime sausage sizzle...) 🌭

Huge thanks to Bark and Soil Growing Media for delivering the best garden mix we've worked with yet! 🌱 And to the Albert-Eden Local Board for funding our mahi.

If you're keen to get involved, check out the DCS page linked above for more info about joining their community garden. We'd love to see you there!
