To live a life of sacrifice is not an obligation but live a life of obedience is an obligation.
As Christians God wants us to live a life of obedience. Do not be confused between the two.

1 Samuel 15:22
22 So Samuel said:
“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.

Surround yourself with the people that speak well of you not speak ill of you.
Don't feed your soul with the negative energy but feed your soul with positive energy.
