💙 57 reasons to smile! 💙

A huge thank you to Crywolf Child for donating 57 pairs of children's gumboots to our Wish Kids.

These gumboots will help keep little feet warm, dry and ready for adventure as wishes are brought to life across Aotearoa. We are especially excited to see some of them heading off on upcoming snow wishes ❄️⛄

It's a small world after all.

Our Volunteer Lead Lisa recently connected that one of our incredible Make-A-Wish Aotearoa volunteers, Dr Kelly Phelps from Whakatāne, is the cousin of Will Phelps, Volunteer Outreach Manager for Make-A-Wish Hawaii

This week, while Will was holidaying in New Zealand, he and Kelly stopped by our Auckland office for a visit, this special visit reminded us that while Make-A-Wish is a global movement, every wish is made possible by local people who care deeply about children in their own communities.

For 40 years, volunteers across Aotearoa have helped us bring hope, strength and joy to critically ill Kiwi kids. And today, one family connection helped make our Make-A-Wish world feel just a little bit smaller.

In honor of International Nurses Day this May, Make-A-Wish was delighted to deliver cookies to the hardworking nurses at Starship Hospital.

Today we’re sending a huge thank you to the Rotorua Trust for helping bring a very special Wish to life in their region 💙✨

Thanks to their support, a local child living with a critical illness will soon receive their very own PC gaming setup 🎮

For many children facing long hospital stays, treatments, and time away from school and friends, gaming can be so much more than just play. It can provide comfort, connection, distraction, and a sense of normality during an incredibly challenging time.

This Wish will help create moments of joy, inclusion, and escape - while keeping this child connected with friends, family, and the things they love most.
