Meet Ps Peter Aupaau (Pita Aupaau)

Ps Peter Aupaau from Holy Living Ministry Samoan Church based at the Pan African Community Centre is a valued member of the wider Centre support network and Advisory Board, contributing consistently behind the scenes to help maintain a safe, welcoming and well-organised community environment.

An ordained Church Pastor with strong community values, Ps Peter supports the Centre across health & safety, facilities support, operational coordination and community mentoring initiatives. He also provides adult oversight and supervision for the Centre’s Youth Empowerment & Mentoring Programmes, helping reinforce child protection, safety and accountability standards while supporting young people from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

While the youth lead and drive many of their own initiatives independently, Ps Peter helps provide a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive participation, mentorship and community connection.

As part of the Centre’s Advisory Board, Ps Peter contributes to strengthening Afro-Pacific relationships by helping identify shared cultural values, traditions and approaches that bring diverse communities together.

Ps Peter is also part of the Pan African Community Centre Auckland Emergency Management Team Whau Community Emergency Readiness Network serving as the immediate onsite response lead during hub activations and emergency situations.

In addition, he coordinates the Centre’s Junk2Gold community support initiative in partnership with Junk2Go Rubbish Removal, helping connect donated household items with families and community members in need across Auckland.

Known for his calm presence, reliability and willingness to serve, Ps Peter continues to play an important role within the wider ethnic community village helping strengthen inclusive spaces across Auckland.

We also acknowledge and thank the Whau Local Board for supporting security and community safety initiatives connected to the Centre.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers, grandmothers, aunties, foster mums, spiritual mums and women quietly carrying others through life every single day 💐🤍
Motherhood comes in many forms through birth, sacrifice, nurturing, guidance, love, prayer, community and simply being there when someone needs you most.

Today we celebrate the strength behind the smiles, the sacrifices nobody sees, the endless worrying , the resilience, the love and the grace that mothers carry every day.

Thinking also of those who find today difficult 💔

Those grieving, missing their mothers, longing to become mothers, navigating loss, or carrying silent pain. You are seen too.

May today bring Love, Peace, Rest and Appreciation to all mothers everywhere 🙏

Soccer for Youth in Action ⚽️

Proud to see this in partnership with Local Soccer Clubs creating opportunities and pathways for our youth !

This is what it looks like when young people take initiative 👏🏽
No waiting. No excuses. Just showing up, playing hard, supporting each other and building something positive together.
From drills to game time, the energy, teamwork and leadership on display says it all.
Well done to all our youth who continue to step up and make these sessions their own. This is bigger than football… it’s confidence, connection and community.
Keep showing up. Keep growing.
