At 12:10am on the night cyclone Gabrielle visiting the AKL region, my Boss rang and all I could hear was; "If you can collect a few blankets, warm clothes, billow, towels etc, we'll need to be at St Leonard Rd School, asap". No time wasted, I did exactly what I was told. When we arrived at the evacuation center, my heart went out to those families who were badly affected by the flood. We came back home around 4:00am and couldn't imagine what those families had been through. I felt good because I know for sure they are warm and dry. Since then, the evacuation centre became our second home. You've met a lot of wonderful people, make new friends, learn a lot in regards to listening to individual stories with various experiences they have been through. Amazing memories of these beautiful souls who help in time like this, so proud to be part of this with YOU Vasa.
