Went out to Awahou School to tidy up the vege garden before term two starts and discovered this majestic beauty hidden away in the weeds. Could probably make enough soup for the whole school!

Some of the lovely creations the tamariki made at the Fairy Salad activity today at the Ashhurst Library. There was debate over the nasturtium - some enjoyed it, while others found it quite spicy. Most agreed that the borage tasted like cucumber. The smell of the anise hyssop and lemon verbena was a hit as well. Well done to the kids who tried some new things. Everyone went home with some borage, calendula, anise hyssop and nasturtium seeds as they will all grow through the winter for both us and the pollinators to enjoy.
