Registrations are now open for the Security of Crowded Places in New Zealand 2026 Forum!

The intent of the Forum is to build the knowledge and skills of senior security practitioners and the owner/operators of crowded places and venues with regards to the Crowded Places Strategies and Resources, and to have the attendees be able to disseminate that knowledge and capability to their organisations and colleagues.

Learning outcomes will be particularly relevant for Senior Managers and Training Managers for Security Providers, Security Consultants and those with responsibility for Crowded Places.

Whereas the first forum provided an introduction to the security of crowded places and the launch of the police strategy, the 2026 forum will focus on resilience planning for the security of crowded places, including:

- Learnings from previous incidents
- CPTED (Crime prevention through environmental design)
- Risk assessment and using self-assessment tools
- Event planning checklists
- SCR (Security Control Room) operations
- Managing critical incidents.

The programme will also include several desktop scenarios and guidance and templates for developing and running scenarios.
