Whoa! The good people from Auckland City Mission (aka street guardians) filled an entire skip bin when cleaning this river. Sad that there was so much rubbish in this beautiful awa. Great that it's been removed. Project Twin Streams, she's looking so much better now! 🌱

❗️ Soapy water is not stormwater - it's wastewater! It needs to go into our wastewater network, which carries your household wastewater to treatment plants and not into our streams.

Last Monday, Hana and Sarah had the privilege of teaching community groups based in and around the Te Kohuroa Catchment how to use a Stream Health Monitoring and Assessment Kit. This was the second day of training and was focused on how to apply learnings in the field. Such a beautiful spot!

Please join us this Thursday morning from 9.30am to show a bit of love for the Waititi Awa / Parrs Stream, which runs through Albionvale Road and flows to the beautiful Waikumete Stream.

Help our Glen Eden team from to remove rubbish & get the stream ready for planting in the winter. Then, enjoy a BBQ together at the end!

With your help we’ll create a thriving environment over the next few years, so local families can enjoy a beautiful natural gem.

Please bring a rain jacket if you have one & wear sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots. Kids must be accompanied by supervising adults.

All are welcome! Meet at 100 Albionvale Rd, Glen Eden.
