Tek Bahadur Shrestha.

Tokha is a municipality in the Central development region of Kathmandu District in the Bagmati Zone of Nepal. The new municipality was formed by merging five existing villages — Dhapasi, Jhor Mahankal, Gonggabu, Tokha Chandeswori and Tokha Sarswoti on 3rd December 2014 .The office of the Tokha municipality is in Greenland of the former Tokha Chandeswori village development committee. Tokha, consi

st of two VDCs; northern- Chandeshwori VDC and Southern-Saraswoti. Tokha has cultural and multidimensional importance, it has also many bases that there is the historical importance and this area is abundantly ancient and has prosperous background. The monument has also proved that Tokha has historical importance even in Lichhavi Dynasty. But this monument is in very poor condition which has not enough clarification about political importance of Tokha. But the word used in monument like 'Gulma' (Bajracharya) shows that there was security post for administrative section in Lichhavi Dynasty. One of the intellectual opines that 'Gulma' may refer to 'Police station' or 'Army Barrack'. On the other hand Historian Jadish Chandra Regmi says that even though Gulma word referred to security condition, its structure shows the administrative division. As the word 'Sh*tahi Gulma' in Thankot monument and 'Aangani Gulma' in Patan monument have been mentioned in Basanta Dev's Aadi Narayan monument, in the same way, the effete (poor) monument of Tokha has not been able to tell the name of the 'Gulm' because of which it was not clear that Tokha was called by a distinct name in Lichhavi period. In addition to it, the mentioned words in the monument like 'Tilmak' and 'Tilmak Sangam' shows that the area got grate fame in the agricultural sector. It is clear that the monument was written in 519 B.S but Tek bahadur Shrestha has mentioned that it was written in 591 B.S. he has added that people had settled in Lichhavi Period and there is written that those people should not be irritated by the government personnel which helps to understand that the citizens occupies significant position in those days. In the medieval period, there was great importance of politics in Tokha. The rulers of this period have developed this area as forth. This has been mentioned for the first time in Nepal in 3756B.S. In Gopal Raj Bansawali, there is said that Nepi forth and Tokha forth had protested the looting of gold of the forth by Jaya Dev 1st. In Nepal sambat 374, there is mentioned that Jaya Dev 1st was protested by Nepikwath and Tokhakwat, when he looted the gold of the forth at night of Aswin Krishna chaturdashi. In Nepal Sambat 377 Jaya Dev was the King who was the son of Avyaa Malla that is return by Petek. After the death of his father Avyaa Malla in 375, at the young age of Prince he became the King. It clarifies that he had looted the gold in his prince age. Indeed, the geographical structure of Tokha is seemed as forth and whole Tokha as the Forth. The main forth can be seen inside the old inhabitant of northern side where goddess Taleju Bhawani has been established then. There were two stone taps in this place but they have been buried. This main forth area is seen significant in politics administration and cultural since ancient time. It is mentionable about the murder of Gopal Dev which has been mentioned by Gopal Vamsawali when the political history of Tokha forth is mentioned. Gopal Dev was Nayak Devi's husband Harish Chandra's Brother. After the assassination of Harish Chandra who was about to snatch the power because of the son in law relationship, Gopal Dev was trying to snatch the same power who was later driven by Gagan Singh Nayak Devi's husband from Bhaktapur to Lalitpur and then again he was driven from there also. But Jogram Mulmi, who was powerful Courtier, was on his side. In 460 Nepal Sambat, Gopal Dev reached Tokha fort with the help of Mulmi. Then there they raised the local people and started protesting. But Tripur took Tokha in his control and many were captured and Gopal Dev was also assassinated. Pasupati Malla is also mentionable when political history of Tokha is mentioned here. Even though, Pasupati Malla doesn't occupy any distinct position in case of dynasty, he has been explained as son (heir) of Jayari Malla by Lusiyano Petek. Indeed, after the death of Jayari Malla there was lack of true heir. To settle down the political dispute and confusions it is seen that Aananda Dev's son was made a King. In the same time Pasupati Malla was in prisoned in the base of Gopal Dynasty which has been mentioned by Mr. It is also mentioned that the famous chief Minister of Nuwakot, Tej Pal who was exiled in Nepal Sambat 478 and stayed as refugee in Tokha fort. In context of political history of Tokha the Important topic to be raised is about Queen Riddhi Laxmi. Riddhi Laxmi was Queen of Parthi Bendri later on who was imprisoned by her own son Bhupalendra raising the issue of his father's murder. Ramji Tiwari has said that she was imprisoned in Tokha fort. Since ancient time Tokha has been the battle field and it was captured by king Prithvi Narayan Shah In1822 B.S. The local people had supported him and the establishment of 'Kotu Ganesh' is also related with the entrance of the Prithvi Narayan Shah in Tokha. In this way many significant protest and events are related to Tokha which most not be ignored. Tokha is considered as a significant territory in relating with the ancient history to medieval and modern history. Population

The present population of this village is about 15000 as per census of 2058 B.S. Occupation of people here is Agricultural based and most adults are abroaded in Gulf countries in search of work. Education

🕯️ Farewell to the Heroes of Broad Peak

The mountains have fallen silent.

With profound sadness, we mourn the loss of ten brave climbers who lost their lives in the tragic avalanche on Broad Peak (8,047 m). They pursued their dreams with extraordinary courage and paid the ultimate price in the world's highest mountains.

"The highest peaks do not measure greatness by the summits reached, but by the courage to climb them. Though these mountaineers are gone, their spirits will forever live among the snow, the wind, and the stars."

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families, friends, teammates, and the global mountaineering community. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their legacy continue to inspire generations to come.

🕊️ Rest in Peace
