1.Invalidity, dependent survivor, disabled and handicapped welfare programme.
We underline the need to create awareness among persons with disabilities about the benefits they can get from the government schemes. And also, NDSECAC provides benefits to those who live behind their ability or eligibility to engage in gainful employment, to those who become permanently disabled and who are not covered under some other medical disability program, and to those who are left dependent as a result of their disabilities. This program usually is commonly funded as contributory insurance programs. Time-lock provisions apply to benefits and advantages, less stringently, to invalidity and dependent survivor. Benefits level is basically 30 percent of base wages.
2.Thangka, Fine Arts and Creative Arts Self-sustainable income generating training.
NDSECAC train the person with disabilities and spinal injuries in all aspects, and special attention is given to those who have interest in fine and creative arts. The centre, without any cost gives special “Thangka Painting” classes to uplift the economic standard of person with irreversible disabilities. This is one of the most accepted forms of fine art which without any obligations guarantee self-dependency and economic well being, if one succeeds and pass the 18 months training without any difficulties.
3.Monthly public campaign to sustain NDSECAC
To sustain NDSECAC and its mission, we organize monthly campaign to collect assistance in the form of cash, clothes, foods or medicines from local communities. We take donations on the day of campaign and we have surplus food, medicines, and clothes for a month.
4Workshops and seminar about causes, management and prevention of spinal injuries and disabilities.
NDSECAC, organize seminar and workshop to minimize spinal injuries and physical disabilities. We make nation aware about causes and prevention; as well as management of spinally injured. The centre conducts seminars and workshops in NGO, Schools and colleges around the nation.
We organize seminar and workshops to raise awareness throughout society, including at the family level, regarding persons with disabilities, and to foster respect for the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities; to combat stereotypes, prejudices and harmful practices relating to persons with disabilities, in all areas of life. To promote awareness of the capacities and contributions of persons with disabilities.
Initiating and maintaining effective public awareness campaigns to nurture receptiveness to the rights of persons with disabilities, to promote positive perceptions and greater social awareness towards persons with disabilities, to promote recognition of the skills, merits and abilities of persons with disabilities, and of their contributions to workplace and the labour market.
5. NDSECAC residential care facility.
NDSECAC residential care is designed as one of the prime necessity for the more severely disabled (who need constant attention). Psychologists believe the best kind of residential care is that which most closely resembles family life. Residential care facilities and group homes are located in NDSECAC apartments or individual houses.
6. NDSECAC special educational training and facility.
NDSECAC considers special education is one of the most important key to self-sufficiency. Mainstreaming—the integration of disabled from special education classes with those in the regular program—is an attempt to acquaint persons with disabilities with normal school routines, an often laudable goal which can nevertheless create daunting educational challenges for teachers as well as for handicapped. Moreover, physical integration alone does not guarantee acceptance by peers. Social and psychological integration must also be considered.
