On this World Earth Day, April 22, 2026, the Himalayan Habre Center is proud to celebrate its third anniversary. What began as a vision to repurpose an abandoned tea shop has since evolved into a vibrant, community-based red panda resource hub located in Deurali, Taplejung.

Located in a community-managed forest near Deurali in eastern Nepal’s Taplejung district, the Himalayan Habre Center is an education and resource hub for red panda conservation and sustainable livelihoods. 🌿

The Center is helping improve living standards and increase income for families in rural communities, while fostering red panda stewardship, by building important skills such as:

🌱 Organic farming
🧶 Handicraft production
🔥 Bio-briquette production & improved cooking stoves
🌞 Solar energy & sustainable construction
🐂 Sustainable herding
🌧 Rainwater harvesting & water conservation
🌿 Nursery and homestay management
🥾 Nature guide and ecotrip leadership

We also host Forest Guardian trainings and environmental education programs for local students — cultivating red panda conservation at the grassroots level. 🎓

🌏Designed to be earthquake-resistant and environmentally sustainable, the Center integrates solar technologies, biogas, organic vegetable production, non-timber forest products, medicinal plants, and responsible waste management.

🏔 And you can visit the Habre Center on our November 16–27, 2026 ecotrip, while experiencing Himalayan biodiversity, culture, and seeing red pandas in their native habitat! ✈️
