Thaprek-7 village is one of the village of Thaprek VDC which is surrounded by Syamgha VDC on the east, Dulegauda on west, Kaski district on north whereas Khairenitaar and Manpaang VDC on its southern part and the VDC lies on the north-west site of Tanahun district. The VDC is distributed into 9 wards and 32 different naming lives. The administrative office, a health post and a high school are in t
he village. The VDC ranges from 434.73 meters to 1242.22 meters from the sea level. With the population over 4000 and houses around 800, there are more than 10 castes like Brahman, Magar, Gurung, Muslims etc. having with their own culture, tradition, religon,norms and values and living with peace and co-operation from the time immemorial which provides a tremendous cultural variation. For example, we can still find about to extinct Baalan Naach in Brahman community and Sati Ghatu in Gurung community. On the other, the village is also rich in nature from the Annapurna-Machhapuchre Himalyan range with the wild life and huge jungle areas. This is why the VDC contains a huge potential in tourism business. The entire VDC is linked-up with Kotre-Pokhara by the Laldhoj Highway, straight linking road with Damauli. On the alternative roads, it has Ramaadi to Pokhara and Phaichowk to Sisaghat. There are 36 NGO's that are actively working to develop the VDC in different areas and currently a couple of micro-finance companies are also doing its works and it has 4 youth clubs that are registered at the District Administrative Office. Tamu Hariyali Club, established in 2061 BS, is the club of Thaprek village. The club is operating different VDC level programs like sanitation, training campaigns, initiating/developing youth programs etc. from its established time. Like every year, the club organizes and celebrates its anniversary on the full-moon day of Dashain,showing its cultural shows, organizing a volleyball tournament and different fun games. It is one of the important program of the club where it gives a platform for youths to explore their hidden talents, save our culture and at the same time to learn. Many youths come to participate for the event from different VDCs and villages far across which helps to create a good environment for peace, harmony and brotherhoodness among us.
