This local NGO has been established in 2013 and works in Langtang, in Rasuwa district, focusing on the remote villages of Timure, Khaidi, Dhal Phedi, Ghate Khola, Thuman and Shyabru Bensi. The local health and school infrastructures are limited and the living conditions of the populations of these villages are very difficult. These villages are still difficult to access and are suffering from rura
l exodus of young population who prefer to move in Kathmandu. Care Himalaya Region’s mission is to improve the living conditions of the local populations, support the community development and new income activities, develop sponsorship activities for education to improve education level and literacy in this remote area. The projects developed by CHR respect the Tamang culture and promote it. They contribute to the protection of the cultural inheritance of the area. New touristic activities and projects as well as the renovation of the local infrastructures, like schools, will bring a new dynamic in these remote villages. Care Himalaya Region works also on the development of new income activities to generate additional revenue for families. Tseden Tamang, in charge of Care Himalaya Region (CHR), knows very well the area and the population. CHR is a strategic local partner for SolHimal to develop further activities and extend sponsorship program in Rasuwa district. In Nepal, Care Himalaya Region NGO is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council under the Social Welfare Act of 1992 and is officially recognized by the government of Nepal. Its constitution was validated and signed by the Social Welfare Council of Nepal on March 20th, 2013 (SWC affiliation No 319/069/070).
