आज मिति २०८३ भदौ १० गते, बुधबार बिहान ८ः४० बजे रुसुवाको भोटेकोशी नदीमा बाढी आइ ठूलो जनधनको क्षति भएको छ।
उक्त बाढीका कारण रसुवा, नुवाकोट, धादिङ र गोरखालगायत जिल्लाका तटीय क्षेत्रहरु प्रभावित बनेका छन्।
बाढी गएलगत्तै सरकारले प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा उद्धार, खोज र राहतका कार्यहरुलाई तीव्रता दिएको छ।
बाढीका कारण पुगेको मानवीय तथा भौतिक क्षतिको विवरण संकलन कार्य जारी छ।
यस् विपद्बाट प्रभावितहरुलाई तत्कालै सुरक्षित स्थानमा व्यवस्थापन गर्नुपर्ने छ भने अर्कोतिर उहाँहरुलाई दीर्घकालिनरुपमा पुनःस्थार्पना गर्न उत्तिकै जरुरी छ।
त्यसका लागि प्रधानमन्त्री तथा मन्त्रिपरिषद्को कार्यालयमा रहेको प्रधानमन्त्री दैवी प्रकोप उद्धार कोष र प्रधानमन्त्री राहत कोषमा आर्थिक सहयोग गरिदिनु हुन सबैमा हार्दिक अपिल गर्दछौं। तल उल्लेखित बैंक खाताहरुमा सक्दो सहयोग गरिदिनुहुन अनुरोध छ।

🌱 Strengthening Local Solutions for Sustainable WASH & Climate Resilience

Today, a joint field visit was conducted across Golbazar Municipality and Karjanha Municipality–1, Siraha, bringing together local government representatives, WHH Nepal - Welthungerhilfe, and Sabal Nepal to review ongoing interventions, share learning, and strengthen collaboration for sustainable, community-led solutions.

📍 Golbazar Municipality – Hadedada, Ward No. 1

The team, comprising Mayor Shyam K. Shrestha, Deputy Mayor Manti Sah, Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 1 Dev Bahadur Magar, and Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 3 Dhan Bahadur Lama, along with WHH representatives Shakeib Nabi, Namita Nepal, Biju Dangol, Navin Rana Magar, and Bikash Karn, and Sabal Nepal Executive Director Deepak K. Jha, visited the Nature-Based Solution (NBS) site at Hadedada.

The team interacted with the Recharge Pond User Committee on the management, utilization, and long-term sustainability of the recharge pond. The team also visited the F***l Sludge Management (FSM) trench site to observe the ongoing intervention and discuss its management and future sustainability.

📍 Karjanha Municipality – Ward No. 1

The team further visited the sanitary pad production facility, where members observed the production process and discussed its operation, management, and sustainability. The team interacted with Ward Chairperson Mr. Phanindra Prasad Pokhrel, Sanitary Pad Production Committee President Mr. Yadav Prasad Subedi, and committee members, who shared insights into the initiative and demonstrated the sanitary pad production process.

The field visit provided a valuable platform for joint learning, coordination, and meaningful dialogue among local governments, development partners, and community institutions, reaffirming our shared commitment to locally led, inclusive, and sustainable solutions in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), climate resilience, and community development.

Girls Are in Action! 🏏💪

The pitch is not just a place to learn cricket-it is a space to build confidence, challenge stereotypes, and create opportunities for girls to lead.

As part of Sabal Nepal’s “Cricket for Equality” project, our mentors and coaches are conducting cricket coaching sessions in various schools across Siraha, Dhanusha and Saptari districts, where girls are actively participating, learning, and showing that sports have no gender limits.

Through these sessions, participants are learning the basics of cricket while also engaging in discussions on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), gender norms, discrimination, social taboos, and the importance of equal opportunities for girls and boys.
