Good news! 🙌 Over $1400 has been raised so far for our community project, Enriching Education, with a huge thanks to Brooke!

After volunteering with GVI Nepal’s Women’s Empowerment Program, Brooke was inspired to support gender equality and girls’ education, stating that “poverty, gender-based violence and cultural norms are issues which affect girls’ education in several countries which is why it is my goal to raise awareness for how we can close this gap.”

Her fundraiser will contribute to better resources for the community in Pokhara, increasing the quality of education available to women, children and the community.

✨ Bonus: For every $250 raised, she’ll take on a 5km hike to show her appreciation! Keen to support her?

From previous participants Harriet: I had the privilege of doing an internship with GVI Nepal in October 2024 where I learnt about the Sisterhood Sewing Project that involves teaching women how to use a manual sewing machine to make clothes, with the outlook of them being able to support their own communities and generate an income. I am fundraising to support the next phase of the project. The Panchase trek is an off the beaten path 2-day hike through the rural areas and lush green forest in the Annapurna region. Which we did it in one day. We walked more than 24kms in 10 hours. Which was a worthwhile goal. 🙌🏻

Confidence a little word that makes big difference.

Cathy our WE volunteer done a great session on the topic of Confidence with young girls and women in the community.
The workshop really helped to the groups for understanding of building confidence in their lives. ✨💪🏻

Today as a GVI experience we have done a hike to Australian Base Camp. Walking into the woods with fresh air and birds' chirping sounds was the highlight of the day. We had seen Nepali national flowers Rhododendron (Laliguras) bloom in the forests with beautiful sunrise. 🌅 🍃
