Disabled Women Empowerment Center–Kaski successfully conducted the Concluding Conference “Voices of Mothers” with financial support from Women’s Fund Asia Limited.

The program was completed successfully with active participation and meaningful engagement from mothers of children with disabilities, stakeholders, and community representatives. Previous participants who had been part of different project activities were invited to review the programs conducted, reflect on their experiences, and share the overall impact of the project. Participants expressed their happiness and appreciation for being involved in such initiatives and highlighted how the programs contributed to their knowledge, confidence, and engagement.

This conference aimed to amplify the voices, experiences, and challenges of mothers, while strengthening advocacy efforts for disability inclusion, access to services, and recognition of caregiving roles. The program also created a platform for dialogue, shared learning, and collaboration among stakeholders.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Women’s Fund Asia Limited for their continuous support and to all participants whose active involvement made this program successful. Participants also expressed their commitment to continue working collectively towards promoting inclusion and supporting persons with disabilities in their communities. 🎓 School Health Program at Kalika Secondary School 🌟

On 24th February 2026 ,Disabled Women Empowerment Center – Kaski organized an interactive program for Class 9 students focusing on:

♿ Disability Awareness – Understanding different types of disabilities and promoting respect & inclusion
🧠 Sexual & Reproductive Health – Learning about adolescence, personal hygiene, and responsible choices

💬 Students actively participated, asked questions, and shared their thoughts, making the sessions lively and engaging.

Programs like these help empower youth, break misconceptions, and foster a more inclusive and supportive community for everyone. 🌈

Disabled Women Empowerment Center – Kaski successfully conducted a School Health Program on Disability and Sexual & Reproductive Health for the students of Sahara Bal Basic School on 27th February 2026.

The program focused on increasing awareness about disability, promoting respect for diversity, and encouraging inclusive attitudes among students. Participants learned about different types of disabilities and the importance of building a supportive and respectful environment for everyone.

The session also included discussions on sexual and reproductive health, where students were provided with age-appropriate information on adolescence, physical and emotional changes, personal hygiene, and healthy decision-making.

Students showed great enthusiasm throughout the program, actively engaging in discussions and sharing their thoughts and questions. The interactive nature of the session helped create a comfortable space for learning and understanding important health and social issues.

Disabled Women Empowerment Center-Kaski successfully conducted a three-day Personal Assistant Training for Persons with Disabilities on 25th-27th March 2026, with financial support from Integrated Service Office , Kaski, Ministry of Social Development, Youth and Sports.

The program was completed successfully with active participation and positive engagement from everyone involved.

This training aimed to strengthen knowledge, skills, and understanding on personal assistance and the importance of providing respectful and inclusive support to persons with disabilities.

Disabled Women Empowerment Center – Kaski successfully organized a School Health Program on Disability and Sexual & Reproductive Health on 20th January 2026 for the students of Tal Barahi Secondary School.

The program aimed to raise awareness about different types of disabilities, promote respect and inclusion, and reinforce the understanding that disability is not a barrier to dignity, rights, or opportunities.

In addition, students participated in sessions on sexual and reproductive health, where they received age-appropriate information on physical and emotional changes during adolescence, personal hygiene, and responsible decision-making.

The sessions were highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions, asking thoughtful questions, and showing genuine curiosity throughout. This participatory approach helped address common misconceptions and create a safe space for learning.

Programs like these are essential in empowering young people with accurate knowledge, reducing stigma, and fostering inclusive and healthy attitudes for a better future.

आगामी फागुन २१ गते सम्पन्न हुन गइरहेको आसन्न प्रतिनिधि सभा सदस्य निर्वाचन, २०८२ का सन्दर्भमा निर्वाचन आयोग नेपाल (Election Commission, Nepal) ले सार्वजनिक गरिरहेका निर्वाचन प्रचारप्रसार तथा मतदाता शिक्षा सम्बन्धी सन्देशमूलक भिडियो सामग्रीहरूमा साङ्केतिक भाषाको दोभाषे तथा स्पष्ट र पढ्न सजिलो सबटाइटल समावेश नभएको विषय प्रति अपाङ्ग महिला सशक्तिकरण केन्द्र–कास्कीको गम्भीर ध्यानाकर्षण भएको छ ।
निर्वाचन सम्बन्धी सूचना प्रत्येक नागरिकको संवैधानिक तथा मौलिक अधिकारसँग प्रत्यक्ष सम्बन्धित विषय हो । पहुँचयुक्त सूचना बिना कुनै पनि नागरिकले स्वतन्त्र, सूचित र विवेकपूर्ण निर्णय गर्न सक्दैन । विशेष गरी अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरूका लागि सूचना पहुँच सुनिश्चित गर्नु राज्य तथा सम्बन्धित निकायको स्पष्ट दायित्व हो । सुनाइ सम्बन्धी अपाङ्गता भएका, स्नायु विविधता सम्बन्धी अपाङ्गता जस्तैः बौद्धिक अपाङ्गता भएका, अटिज्म अपाङ्गता भएका तथा अन्य अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरूलाई लक्षित गरिएका सामग्रीहरूमा पहुँचयुक्त व्यवस्थाको अभावले उनीहरूलाई सूचनाबाट वञ्चित मात्र होइन, लोकतान्त्रिक प्रक्रियामा समान र अर्थपूर्ण सहभागिताबाट समेत टाढा पार्ने जोखिम उत्पन्न गर्दछ ।
यस अवस्थालाई मध्यनजर गर्दै अपाङ्ग महिला सशक्तिकरण केन्द्र–कास्कीले Election Commission, Nepal समक्ष निम्न विषयहरूमा तत्काल पहल गर्न आग्रह गर्दछः
• सम्पूर्ण भिडियो सामग्रीमा अनिवार्य रूपमा साङ्केतिक भाषाको दोभाषे र स्पष्ट, उच्च कन्ट्रास्ट तथा पढ्न सजिलो सबटाइटल समावेश गर्ने व्यवस्था मिलाउन,
• हालसम्म प्रसारण भएका सामग्रीहरूलाई प्राविधिक रूपमा सुधार गरी पहुँचयुक्त बनाउँदै पुनःप्रकाशन गर्न,
• अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरू तथा तिनका प्रतिनिधि संस्थासँग परामर्श गर्दै आगामी सबै सार्वजनिक सूचना सामग्री पहुँचयुक्त बनाउने स्पष्ट संस्थागत कार्ययोजना सहितको प्रतिवद्धता सार्वजनिक गर्न,
• निर्वाचन सम्बन्धी सूचना बहुआयामिक ढाँचामा उपलब्ध गराउने, जसमा अडियो सामग्री, सचित्र सरल भाषा, ब्रेल, तथा डिजिटल प्लेटफर्ममा पहुँचयुक्त (accessible) ढाँचा सुनिश्चित गरिएको होस् ।
समावेशी र उत्तरदायी लोकतन्त्रको आधार समान सूचना पहुँच हो । निर्वाचन प्रक्रियामा कुनै पनि नागरिक, विशेषतः अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरू, सूचनाको अभावका कारण पछि पर्नु लोकतान्त्रिक मूल्य र सिद्धान्त अनुकूल हुँदैन । त्यसैले सम्बन्धित निकायले विषयको गम्भीरता बुझी तत्काल आवश्यक सुधारात्मक कदम चाल्नेछ भन्ने हाम्रो विश्वास तथा स्पष्ट अपेक्षा रहेको छ ।

Disabled Women Empowerment Center–Kaski (DWEC–Kaski) proudly shares the successful “Storytelling Program of Mothers of Children with Disabilities,” organized in coordination with Independent Living Center–Pokhara, with support from Women’s Fund Asia Limited on 27 January 2026.

The program created a safe space for four courageous mothers to share powerful stories of struggle, resilience, love, and hope. The event was graced by Ms. Manju Devi Gurung, Deputy Mayor of Pokhara, as the Chief Guest, whose words inspired all participants.

Heartfelt thanks to the mothers, speakers, partners, and organizing team for making this program meaningful and impactful.
