In Loving Memory: Dr. Thomas (Tom) Hale

INF Nepal joins in mourning the passing of Dr. Tom Hale, who together with his wife Dr. Cynthia Hale served the people of Nepal for many years. While their service was with our sister mission UMN, INF owes Tom a special debt of gratitude — in the late 1990s he researched and wrote Light Dawns in Nepal, our mission's history, giving generously of his time and talent to tell our story. He gave INF something far greater than a history book. We give thanks for his life and legacy, and hold Cynthia and their family in our prayers.

INF Nepal's Senior Leadership Team recently visited project areas in Rolpa and Dang to engage with communities, local partners, and project stakeholders, gaining firsthand insight into the progress and impact of ongoing initiatives.

From supporting Self-Help Groups and disability inclusion efforts to celebrating improved access to safe drinking water, the visit reinforced the value of local leadership, collaboration, and community-driven development.

Today our teams marked the day across several districts — including Kalikot and Bajura — joining hands with local governments and partner organisations for community awareness programmes and tree plantation drives. Planting today for the Nepal of tomorrow. 🌳

Emergency Response Update | Bajura

On 28 May 2026, a sudden flash flood and strong winds struck Ward No. 1 of Budhinanda Rural Municipality in Bajura District, causing widespread damage and leaving families in urgent distress. Homes and essential food supplies were destroyed within moments, severely disrupting daily life across the community.

Preliminary reports indicated that more than 100 households were affected, with many families facing immediate food insecurity and loss of basic necessities.

In response, INF Bajura immediately coordinated with local government representatives, advocating for an urgent and organized response. This led to a Municipal Disaster Management Committee (MDMC) meeting on 29 May 2026, where stakeholders agreed on coordinated support for affected families.

As an immediate life-saving intervention, INF Nepal provided urgent emergency assistance to the most vulnerable households to help address critical needs in the aftermath of the disaster.

INF Nepal remains committed to supporting the affected communities not only in immediate relief but also throughout the recovery phase. We continue to work closely with local authorities and partners to ensure timely and inclusive support reaches those most in need.

Together, we respond. Together, we rebuild hope.
