📢 Workshop Success: Advancing Rainwater Harvesting in Gandaki Province! 💧🏔️
We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our 2-Day Workshop on Rainwater Harvesting (RWH): Advocacy, Policies & Sharing in Pokhara!
The event saw active and enthusiastic participation from the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Water Supply, Gandaki Province. We were deeply honored to have Mr. Devraj Niraula (Secretary) grace the event as our Chief Guest. The workshop was expertly chaired by Mr. Gajendra Singh Pun (Chairperson of Kanchan Nepal).
🎯 Key Objectives Achieved:
Assessed & Shared: Evaluated the current status, practical applications, and pressing challenges of RWH across Nepal.
Raised Awareness: Enhanced understanding among local authorities and stakeholders in the Kaski district regarding the critical importance of rainwater management.
Facilitated Knowledge Exchange: Created a vibrant platform for stakeholders—including government agencies, NGOs, CBOs, and private sector actors—to exchange insights.
Policy Integration: Identified strategic opportunities to seamlessly integrate RWH initiatives into local policies, plans, and future programs.
Fostered Collaboration: Built stronger partnerships to scale up sustainable RWH initiatives moving forward.
👥 A Collaborative Effort
The event brought together over 40 dedicated participants representing 20+ diverse institutions, including government bodies, non-governmental organizations, private agencies, and direct RWH beneficiaries.
The event was organized by Kanchan Nepal in coordination of Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Water Supply, Gandaki Province and supported by International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance - IRHA/ Fédération genevoise de coopération - FGC in Pokhara at Hotel Pauwa, Lakeside.
